We will be visiting DW soon and I am a plus size mom of DD11 & DD8. and also DH who is not overweight. Do most of the Disney attractions allow for larger riders. My 11 year old is excited about riding many of the more advanced rides R&R coaster and TOT. Space MT etc but DH is not a thrill ride person at all. I do not want her to miss out because of me. Also I would hate to wait a long time in line and find out that I cannot ride or that my family has to go on without me. I would rather just stay back and let them go if I know it will not let me on. princess:

I have only seen a height requirement but never a weight limit. While I was there in May I did not notice any of the larger(me being one) turned away. Don't know for sure though. :wave2: princess: princess:

wdwig.com has a great section called WDW at Large about WDW for plus-size folks. I am also plus sized and have never had any kind of problems on Disney rides. I did need to take my own seat on Kali River Rapids instead of sharing, but other than that, no worries!

You'll have a great time--there isn't anything to worry about at WDW!

i barely fit into the seat of the men in black ride at Universal lasty year (I am a sz 18)...just an fyi ( i know its not Disney))

I am very plus sized and ride everything at WDW with no problem, I have trouble getting in and out of Space mtn due to my bad knees, not my weight..You should have no problems and I ride all rides at Universal with no problem either, including MIB and ROTM....:sunny:

I'm a size 24 and have no problem riding anything.
MIB like someone else had mentioned, that was a tight squeeze. LOL

Thanks so much for your answers and your encouragement, I especially found the WDW at Large on the above WEB site very helpful. ::yes::

You might cross post on the WISH boards. Somebody over there, I'm sure, will have some advice.

Have a magical day!

I'm glad to have found this website-I was also wondering about my size & the rides. My dd is a little munchkin so I need to be with her-but I really didn't want to embarass her (size 20). Besides being plus size -I'm a plus klutz!! Wish me coordination!

You'll do fine and be able to ride anything you're brave enough to try!:D

I'm 5'2" 220 lbs. The only things that give me a little difficulty is the turnstile at PotC (have to turn sideways) and getting out of Space Mountain. Doesn't bother me enough not to ride though. You should be just fine!

Have any of you guys gone on the new mummy ride at universal. I am also large and am petrified that I will not fit. Ihave fit at all disney rides but I am paranoide about this one LOL. I have ridden on the coasters at Universal.

thanks
betty

You are a dear person for wanting to make these memories with your child. Focus on your big heart and plus sized love for those near you, and scope out the boards above. Have a lovely trip.

You should be fine! I'm 5'9" and size 28, dh is 6'3" and a 3x. We ride everything, especially the thrill rides. I can't make it on some coasters at other parks, not a issue at all at Disney. WDW is probably the friendliest park for plus size folks I've ever seen. You would have to be 2 or 3 sizes bigger then me-at least- to have real problems at the world. I second allearsnet.com as a resouce, read the trip reports, should greatly reassure you. Universal is another story, but only Kraken at Seaworld should be a potential problem if you're heading out of Disney property. Have a great trip and enjoy it with your kids!
