Plus Size Dress

I totally understand the frustration of plus size brides! I was extremely apprehensive about going to bridal salons-- I knew they would only have a few samples in larger sizes. My mom and I went to a couple, but I didn't find anything I wanted. When I first started looking, I desperately wanted a Maggie Sottero gown but I never found one I could even sort of try on. I wasn't about to order an expensive gown without at least thinking I was going to like it! I still wish I had a Maggie, but I'm happy with my dress.

I ended up getting my gown at David's. It is a Monique Luo. It was a clearance dress so I got it for 1/2 off. I'm very happy with it. I found that David's at least had a decent selection in plus sizes, even if they weren't the greatest dresses in the world. If you try their dresses you might at least get an idea of what elements you want in your dress.

I went for a fitting today and to have my bustle done. The seamstress was shocked that I didn't require a single alteration. The length was perfect as was the rest of the dress. Granted, I really wanted to need to take the dress in, but I'm okay with it fitting me perfectly! :)

I know all the other ladies are saying the same thing, but I am going to put my 2 cents in. I felt the same way, and I was so happy when a dress fit me I bought it. I settled. There are tons of dresses out there that will flatter you. I promise. I gave a friend of mine this advice. Try on every dress. You will be amazed at what will flatter you. Don't settle.
