We are going to world in two weeks. I rented a ECV because I just had a total knee replacement. Does anyone have a list of where the EVCs can be plugged in at WDW? I know there is one by the bathrooms at the American restaurant that seems available but would appreciate knowing about a few more. Thanks.

Normally as long as you plug it in overnight in your room the batteries should carry a full charge, actually good for more than a day. If it will not hold a charge call the supplier and the ECV (or the batteries) will be promptly replaced.

That said, quite a few lampposts will have a couple of covered outlets in the base. All you need to do is lift up the spring-loaded cap. Or just look along walls for what appear to be covered outlet boxes.

There are also outlets in the floor in some locations (Electric Umbrella restaurant at Epcot comes to mind). You may need to undo a screw to get the cover to tilt up and you will also need a prong extender if the cord comes out of the plug at an angle or if the plug is large. (A small 3 prong to 2 prong adapter makes a good prong extender.)

I am pretty sure WDW does not want people undoing screws to get to a plug.

If you think you will need to charge your ECV while in a park, you may want to stop in GS and ask where they suggest you plug in.

I have seen scooters plugged in at GS at Epcot.:thumbsup2
I have also seen scooters plugged in in bathrooms (unattended and blocking the entry) removed by CM's.

there is a great out of the way place at the MK - close to the meet and greet place for the Princess and the Frog characters. It is on the wall and even shaded in spots. It is also close to a smoking area, if you have someone in your party that needs a smoke break.

But honestly...if you rent from Apple - they have great batteries and you really should not need to charge it at all during the day. Just make sure you remember to charge it at night.

If it is a personal scooter...then I would ask at Guest Services. First Aid will also store them and let you charge them up.

I have plugged a defunct scooter (the battery needed to be replaced)in at Cinderella's Castle:they let me pull it into the inside meet and greet area of the Castle and plug it in.
I have plugged in outsde by the Crystal Palace: right by the stroller parking there is a plug.
Also, In EPCOT by the International Gateway (over by England):where they have the scooter rental there, they will let you plug in there (even if it isnt a Disney Scooter).
In Animal Kingdom:I have plugged over in Dinoland USA by Island Merchantile, right behind the picnic tables there is a working plug there.
Sorry, I dont have any info about Hollywood Studios because I never stay long enough in that park.
There are plugs allllll over the parks, on steaks in theground through the fences, however some of them dont work (especially EPCOT World Showcase area) Cast Members are usually very helpful in finding a spot out of the way to re-charge. I have also learned that renting the "heavy duty" scooter model helps with not having to plug in of you are going all day long. Those batteries have longer charges and are a few dollars more ;)

Hi:
I own one of the small scooters which only has a 10 mile battery. Can you believe I run out every time I'm in MK? I now carry a second set of batteries in a small cooler bag.

My poor family because their feet are tired and I'm ready for another 10 miles. LOL.

I can usually find an outlet inside a restaurant when we stop for lunch or dinner. But it's more just for if I forgot to recharge overnight or for me to be "sure" that I don't run out. My very healthy, fit family who walk alongside me cannot last as long as a full battery charge!

I rented from Apple and my battery never was even close to running out during the day. It only lost one to two bars tops at the end of the night.
