Pls help! Have to cancel reservation and don't know what to do!!!

We have had to make the very difficult decision to cancel our upcoming trip. It does not fall within the 31 day range so my understanding is that our points will be put in a holding acct until the end of our use year. The issue is that we also won't be able to use them before the end of our use year because it won't work with DD's school schedule.

What should I do? Any and all help would be appreciated. :confused3
 
If you cant use them I would look into renting them via a service such as Davids, that way you can at least get some cash for them rather than letting them expire.
 
I think David's is the company I've heard on here but if I am not mistaken, they only do 100 points minimum and this is 98, but I will look into it.

You might have better luck renting out the reservation. Is it a desirable date and location?

Generally through David's you will get next to nothing for distressed points. Try renting privetly
 
I would cancel the reservation and rent the points out. Explain that these are holding points and what holding points are. I had the same problem and I put a rent price of $10.00 a point and within 1 day I had multiple offers. Basicially these are distressed points.

I used the rent forum from the disboards.

If I read this correctly you stated they do not fall within the 31 day range. I might be incorrect but if you cancel before 31 days the points are returned to the current UY.

If that is the case you should have more options.
