Pls help, going to DL on Friday w/ a DL HATER!

Now ,see that is interesting. Does she warm to the idea once she is there and enjoys it or is she "eh" the whole trip? I suppose that I am just curious about this. I guess its because I have been psycho in love with Disney and all things Disney since I knew what Disney was. So , yes it is hard to imagine anyone denying themselves the joy I get out of it.
Not only have I been drinking the punch, I am swimming it in!:rotfl2: :wizard:

Corpsebride! I was just thinking about you the other day and wondering where you went! I hadn't seen you around here for a while! Glad to see you back and posting!!!

Hi Sherry!!! Yeah, I sprained my wrist by tripping over one of my dogs so it has been kind of hard to type. but I am getting much better. How are ya?

My mom is "eh" about DL, she'll go only because I want to go and that's only when the whole family is coming. She doesn't get my love for it but she doesn't hate it.

That's how my parents are. My Dad was hating Disneyland for awhile though because me, him and my mom were going like 3 weekends in a row and I think he got burnt out. But just last week he said he wanted to go back. :rotfl:

My DBF is the one who doesn't like to wait in line. We both have premium APs and go often, but he still hates lines. Well, lines longer than 25 minutes. But that's it. I'm the one who gets anxiety in crowds. We always on weekends when it's crowded, but I don't do very well when I'm squished between people. It doesn't keep me from going though.

He's being honest with you. That's a good thing. And he wants to see you have a good time. That's a good thing.
I've been married 38 years and my husband has a hard time with the concept of having fun. I don't let that stop me and I make sure he understands my fun is always better when he's there. (Well, there are times when that's not entirely true. But I'm sure you get the idea.)

There always seems to be 2 camps. Us, the 24/7 Disney lovers and the other camp. Who HATE Disneyland. Now, hate is such a strong word but I have never encountered anyone who is "eh" about Dl. It is either a true love or HATE.
Now ,we all know that there seems to be an endless list of the LOVE of Disney.
The way a child lights up at a character greeting, falling in love on a date, the teenager who gets to experience the first steps of independence to run free unfettered with parental supervision, but still gets to stay in touch with their childhood by wearing Ears , the food, the changing of the seasons, the RIDES!!
And so many other things, but to HATE Disney. Hmmmm. What is it about Dl that is "hateable"?
I have to join in on the agreement of another poster. I had a friend who and I quote "Truly despises Disneyland and all things Disney". We are no longer friends.
So just curious, what is the beef?
To the Original poster, good luck.
I hope your Bf gets a big dose of the magic and learns to love it as much as you do.:wizard:

I know what you mean !!

I'm 100% Disney all the time and an ex co-worker calls Disney the anti-christ! I don't what his problem is.

Its disappointing when people don't share the same passion as you, but what can you do about it?

OP, I say find things that he likes and try to incorporate them into the park. My fiancee didn't like Disney when we first started dating and he is the one who introduced me to the DIS !

I am okay - busy with freelance stuff. I imagine it is not only hard for you to type, but also to tattoo?! I am glad to see you back on here - it's not the same without our full assortment of regulars on DISboards. It is like a piece of a puzzle missing!:goodvibes I hope your wrist is better soon.

I thought of your DBF when this thread was first started, because you said he loves DLR as much as you do (which clearly shows in your photos) - the total opposite of the OP's situation! If only all boyfriends, fiances and husbands could be like your DBF and share the love! I have had a couple of dull and non-fun boyfriends and male friends in the past and they either went out of their way to be miserable just to make me feel guilty for having fun OR they looked down on going to DLR as a 'silly kids' thing' and refused to set foot in DLR. There was no changing their minds. Even if they secretly had fun, they wouldn't admit it. Losers!
