I know this question has been asked numerous times. I have a 12 year old son who will almost be 13 when we go. I really want to go to the comedy club and adventure club. Is the comedy club like the show What's my Line? Do people bring kids to these clubs that are around this age and do they enjoy it. Any input would be appreciated.

Hi, Buzz!

While the performers at the Comedy Club do a wonderful job of avoiding overt sexual comments, the same can't always be said for the people in the audience. As the night goes on, since people are drinking (with Pleasure Island being a great, big open bar) the comments from the audience (the performers ask for suggestions and then do their improv based on those suggestions) can be the kind of thing you might not want to expose your child to.

The first show usually has fewer of those kinds of problem, although not always. I still remember the last time I was there and for the early show some guy stood up and screamed sexual obscenities every single time the performers asked for suggestions (sigh).

I would be uncomfortable with my child hearing those kinds of things and seeing the kinds of behaviors that some adults on vacation have when they are out on the town and have been drinking, perhaps heavier than usual because they won't be driving. But the choice is ultimately yours both as your child's parent and since Disney allows children into the Comedy Warehouse with their parent or guardian.

Hope you have a wonderful trip and hope your son gets a chance to check out Disney Quest, as he is at the age where he will probably really like the interactive computer games!

well im not exactlly sure what "whats my line" is... but i can tell you that i remember going to it when i was 13 and 14 around that age... (almost 18 now) and i thought it was funny. I went to it last summer and thought it was even better. I guess some of the jokes went over my head when i was younger but oh well.

Buzz, I've taken my daughter to the Adventure's Club, and she is the same age as your son. She has a great sense of humor, so she liked the jokes, pranks or should I say, "skits" that the cast performs as ad lib. I have not taken her to the Comedy Club although, I've been a number of times I think it's something she would like. As Figaro said, "if you go to the early show you should not have a problem". You know your son best, I'm sure you'll make the right decision.

Have a great time!
