We 42m 39f are heading to Pleasure Island Friday and Saturday nights.........Anyone else going? :stir:

I'll be at PI this Saturday night but unfortunately the DW has to go out of town for the weekend so I'll be solo. I'll be the guy at Mannequins with his tongue hanging out, watching the girls go round-n-round on the revolving dance floor! BobK/Orlando

I will be arriving at about 6:PM on Saturday (12/9). My friend (arriving on the 8th) has aggreed to wait till I arrive so I can show her the adventurers club for her very first time the night I arrive. If you haven't been there before, I find this place to be a laugh riot each and every time.

OMG, they still have Mannequins???? Oh the memories there. I was dancing with college girls going round and round. What fun times those were. :woohoo:

Missec, the college girls (and older) are still there; the revolving dance floor is still there; the techno and dance music is still there; COME ON DOWN!! LOL.

Woo Hoo sounds like fun.....

Do you know if there is still a bar on the boardwalk that has dueling panios?

Yes, Jellyrolls is still the dueling piano bar at the Boardwalk! And doing quite well, from other posts here on Disboards. There is also a Howl At the Moon on International Drive.

Hi Tigge50447 --

When in January are you headed down to Orlando? I'm heading there myself, Jan 15 to 22. I'm planning to pop by the Home Depot and pick up some LGMHs for my little backpack. It would be great to meet other DISers.

Enjoy your trip!

Jellyrolls

Thats it. OMG, we used to have so much fun in that bar, that was our unoffical afterwork bar on thrusday nights. :dance3: :rolleyes1 :bounce:

Thanks Bob

Tigge, it is difficult to guess how any particular night is going to be crowd-wise. Saturday nights are the busiest year-round and thus always a lot of fun. Friday nights are definitely very iffy. During summers and other tourist seasons (like Spring Break & over the holidays, it can be packed too. At other times it will be less crowded and sometimes rather empty with the bartenders standing around waiting on customers. However, if there is a big convention in town then it can be crowded any night! If you can switch your visit to a Saturday night instead of Friday night you'd be sure to have more partiers out there with you.

Missec, you're welcome.

Care,

We are headed down on Jan 24th - 28th :( would have been cool to meet someone off the board. I will be sporting my lime green mickey head I made last trip. Someone spotted me at Epcot with it on my backpack, that was cool.

:)

The DW and I are likely to be out there on that Saturday night, since we're usually out there most Saturday nights. But it's too far off right now to know for sure.

any idea how it is on a Thursday in Jan? or should we tough it out and do the Saturday night then wake up at the crack of down for our flight home?
