Some would probably put it down to a senior moment but I'm confused between some of the Downtown Disney 'bits'.

I've heard lots of mentions of Pleasure Island and actually know where it is. I've heard of Boardwalk but don't know where it is or what's there.

Can someone help me out with a simple explanation please.

The Boardwalk hotel is one of the Disney "DVC" resorts, it is situated between the Y+B clubs hotel and the Swan/Dolphin. It's around the lagoon that's at the rear of the Y+B club hotels. There is a walkway that goes around the lagoon and leads up to the International Gateway entrance to Epcot. If you ever fancy exploring the area and are at Epcot it's a 5 minute walk from the bridge between the UK and France areas of Epcot. As well as the hotel, there is a restaurant, club and shop area that is along the "boardwalk". There is an ESPN bar, Spoodles ( a tapas style restaurant) , Big River bar and grill, Flying Fish restaurant , a dance hall and a duelling piano bar. There is also a great art gallery that's worth a walk around, it features the work of the wildlife artist Wyland ( http://www.wyland.com ) known for his "Whaling walls" murals . There are also a couple of clothing stores. In the evenings there are a few "pay as you go" attractions like fortune tellers, throw a ball into a hoop to win a prize, often face painting, sturry bikes etc etc.

Disney wanted an alternate venue to it's Pleasure Island/DTD area so placed this here. It is a lot quieter than PI and there's no charge to have a wander around.
