I'd like to hear suggestions on which one we should choose for lunch in July. :scratchin

DH and I have had dinner at Le Cellier twice before. We've never been to Rose & Crown.

Also with us on this trip will be DS22 (steak lover), DS19 (a little more picky but can usually find something he likes on a menu, especially a good burger!), and DS19's GF (she's attending culinary college, is a cook at her parent's restaurant, and will eat anything!).

After checking out the menus, we'd definitely all be happy with lunch at Le Cellier. But none of us have ever eaten at Rose & Crown, and I think we'd all find something on the lunch menu there.

Which restaurant has the better food? Which has a nicer atmosphere? I know that Le Cellier is on the dark side, which actually might not be too bad of a thing after being out in the hot July sun. :sunny: What is Rose & Crown like??

All opinions and comments are most welcome! ::yes::

If you are talking about THIS July, I'd be willing to bet that reservations are already booked solid for LeCellier. But I voted for it anyway.

I didn't even think of that! I just sent an email to the Polynesian IPO asking them to make the change for us, so I'll have to wait and see if they're able to book it for us or not.

I went in the opposite direction - I don't like Le Cellier enough to deal with the trouble of it all. It's a decent steak, nothing spectacular, and I don't think it comes close to deserving all of the hoopla it generates.

But that's just me.

On the other hand we enjoyed our meals the last couple of times we were in Rose & Crown, nothing fancy here either but it's always been pretty good and much less crowded.

Getting an ADR will be tough, but I voted for Le Cellier. If not, Rose & Crown is a good option as well.

Rose and Crown is OK. I've had dinner there a couple of times. But Le Cellier has much better food.

Been to each for dinner and enjoyed both of my meals. As lunch goes though, I would choose R&C, simply because LeC is so dark! I prefer the atmosphere at the R&C, especially for lunch time! :thumbsup2

It's not just you. To us Le Cellier is Disney's version of an overrated Outback. You can get steak just about anywhere, and much better steak at that then what LC can offer. English food is tougher to come by. I would suggest R & C just to change things up a bit and try something new.

I just can' get enough of the mushroom filet so I would say Le Cellier for lunch. But I do like going to R & C espeiallu later and be there for Illuminations and for the beer selections

We go to Le Cellier for lunch, as the steak burger is our favorite, and is not available for dinner.

Thanks for the votes and the replies, everyone! :) I had an email first thing this morning from Polynesian IPO and they were able to get us an 11:40am lunch ADR at Le Cellier, so I think that's what we're going to do. I know that the items on their lunch menu will appeal to all of us.

I know that I mentioned that DH and I have had dinner at Le Cellier a couple of times before, and I wasn't overly thrilled with the food (DH enjoyed his food though), but I think the lunch menu looks fine. :) I do love their cheddar cheese soup, and I want to try the Whiskey chocolate cake for dessert! I'll probably get the shaved prime rib sandwich for my entree.

I do like the look of the inside of the Rose & Crown, but I know it'll be very hot in July, so the dark "cellar" feel of Le Cellier will probably feel pretty good while we take a break for lunch.

If anyone has pictures of their lunch from Le Cellier, I'd love to see them! Thanks! :sunny:
