I voted for POFQ! We love it there! We originally wanted AKL, but decided to stay 10 nights instead of 7, so DH said for the extra nights, we have to stay in a mod. Anyway, we loved it at POFQ when we stayed there in 2007, so I decided to stay there again. For a moment I also thought about CSR, because that is the only mod that we have not stayed at yet. But, I was also worried about the upcoming room refurbs, so I ended up booking POFQ. It really is a lovely resort!

We have stayed at both and DEFINITELY prefer POFQ. The resort is much smaller, no room is very far from anywhere. You have the boat to DTD. Since PORS and POFQ are sister resorts you can use the pools at both. POFQ has beignets and the live piano player (forgot his name--Bob maybe), very family friendly. It's the first bus stop going to and coming from the parks, so going at least you always get a seat. CMs are really friendly.

CSR we did not like at all. However, I have to admit the bus system there was really better than at any of the resorts I've ever stayed at. The CMs there are not particularly friendly or helpful there though and the resort is huge. We bought the refillable mugs, but never got to use them. We also didn't like all the suits walking around, sort of took away from the vacation feel. The food court always seemed packed. Also, we had two very bad experiences there. #1. my 74 y/o mom almost got ran over by one of the CMs in those golfcarts racing around. We both literally had to dive off the sidewalk and both fell to our knees. The CM did stop and apologize though:rolleyes:. Those golf carts are supposed to stop to pick people up and take them over to the main building, but we never did have one stop for us. #2. Also on our last night we walked down to do laundry and while it was washing decided to go out to the quiet pool in that area to wait. There was a bunch of very drunk conventioneers in the pool. They started hasseling a couple of young women in their early 20's, propositioning them. We and the girls had to leave. It was really scary. Both girls were in tears. We walked them to their room, with one of the drunks following us and called security. When we went back to get our clothes out of the laundry, the drunks were still there. They were out of the pool, but were still sitting around the pool drinking and being very loud. Apparently security didn't do anything, but warn them and make them get out of the pool.

Well DH and I sat down and looked at pics and reviews of both resorts and we love the pics and theme of CSR better. But I keep second guessing myself thinking the smaller resort might be better even though the pics really don't thrill me :confused3 . Thanks so much everyone for posting your opinions and votes :goodvibes .

We are sure you will be happy with whatever decision you make. Just remember...you are at Disney!

We have reservations in July for POFQ for 4 nights, then CSR for 4 nights. I guess I have the same question as to which is really better. :goodvibes

Good choice! :thumbsup2 Depending on what you want to be close to, here are some good building choices.

Cabana 9b is close to bus stop 1 and the main building with a short walk to the Dig Site (main pool) over the wooden bridge. Most convenient location and most preferred.

Cabana 8a is close to the Dig Site (and playground) and bus stop 4 with a short walk to the main building. (Closest to the Pool)

Cabana 8b and 9a are in between the 2 above. 9a has a quiet pool.

Ranchos 7b has a quiet pool, is close to the Dig Site and bus stop 4 with a bit longer walk to the main building. 7b is behind cabana 8a.

Casita 1 is attached to the main building and is very close to the restaurants.

Casita 3 has great courtyard and fountain views but you will have to walk or ride the internal shuttle to get to the pool.

Casita 5 has some nice fountain and lake views and is close to the Dig Site but farther from the main building. Close to bus stop #2.

Thank you everyone!! CSR won by a few votes, but I'm sure either resort will be fine as long as were at Disney. We do like to have a nice resort for naps and pool time though. We took a family vote after looking at pictures and reading reviews. DD and I voted CSR and DS and DH voted POFQ :lmao: . I might as well flip a coin. I guess we will try CSR this year and POFQ next year.

Having stayed at both and really believe that both resorts are wonderful, If your looking for quiet, go with CSR. You'll never feel crowded. Also, don't worry about what room you have, they have these CM's who drive these golf carts around, if you flag them they will stop , pick you up and take to the main building so you wont have to walk so far. If I were you, I would go with your gut feeling and run with. I loved both and would stay at either!:thumbsup2
