I have three rooms booked at ASMv with an annual pass rate. I can now add the dining plan to what I have booked correct? :confused3 I thought I had read that and I'm at work so I can't call WDW and verify. Thanks in advance!! :dance3:

In order to get a room only annual pass room with the dining plan, you would have to cancel the reservation you currently have, then make a new reservation with the annual pass discount, or not, and add the dining plan. This is true because it is treated as a package, and you cannot create a package from an already existing ressie.

I've tried, and so far, I haven't re-scheduled as a package because my dates are in September and I want to wait until AP discounts come out for those dates.

I have a room only AP rate for May (value). When I did an online (trial - did not book) reservation for the AP DDP Package, my room only rate went up $200.:scared: When I add the cost of the DDP, I figure we are better of with the DDE.

Call and see what rate they quote you - if it fits your budget and eating habits, go for it. (And report back!)

your room only rate should not go up if you add DDP... you have to make sure you go through the link for the AP special rate.. i think it's $74 a night for May, then, when your quote comes up, you can add the DDP at that time, and it will not increase the price of your room.. did that make sense? lol

do not go through the AP link for DDP as it will calculate the room at the regular price, not the AP special rate.

I did what I think you wanted me to do?? I went to the AP web site and started with a room only request. I priced it out at (7 nights POP, standard room) $722.25. My current rate is $605.20 - I don't think I was charged extra on weekends on my original booking. Adding the DDP was $1164.70 and the DxDDP was 1612.70.

We stayed the same number of nights 01/26 - 02/02. Using the DDE we had OOP of about $450 for food including tax and tip. We usually ate two TS a day - but often shared. We also ate at several signature restaurants. Rarely did we each get an entree, beverage and dessert. Some time we shared an appy and each got an entree. Some times we shared an entree and each got dessert. What ever we felt like or were hungry for... Now, DD caught a cold and we did have a couple of POP food court meals. (Once I even got her the children's chicken Noodle soup.)

Looking at the bottom line the DDP would cost me an extra $559.50 plus tip and the DxDDp would be an extra $1007.50 plus tip. My current estimate of food costs for this trip is $450.00. We still have three meals undecided - but only one CS planned - all TS and usually two per day. So, given our eating habits, the DDE seems like a better deal.

I was curious so I gave it a try and I got 7 nights, standard room, for $629. The preferred room came to $723. It always defaults to a preferred room, you have to change it and then update for it to change the price ;)

What site are you using? I did change from the preferred to standard room (unless it changed back?). The rate was $74, $94 weekends, with tax $722.25.

(I'm sorry OP - I think I hijacked your thread - usually I just kill them! :lmao: )
