Please use paragraphs in long posts (I know this has been posted before)

This is not a vent or a criticism, but I find myself not answering some threads because they are so difficult to read.

I feel bad because some of you have real problems that I would like to comment on, but when a post is one LONG paragraph it hurts my eyes to read it.

Please just remember to hit the "enter" key every once in awhile.

Yes, it looks like some long jumbled ramble.

They took the time to write it, but, if someone can't take the time to sort & hit the Enter/Return key a few times, I can't take the time to decipher their long post.

Makes me wonder if they really want us to read it.

Sometimes it's hard to figure out what the actual problem/story is.

If I open a post and it is a wall of text, then I close it. I do not have the time or Tylenol to try and read it.

Really, it is internet etiquette.

and then there are the posts with no capital letters and very little punctuation which make it even harder to read in a long paragraph when someone has so much to tell us or if just rambling on and on SO PLEASE USE PROPER WRITING SKILLS SO THIS OLD GUY CAN READ THEM EASIER and dont shout so much

While we're sort of on the topic, am I the only one who doesn't like it when people use different fonts and colors? There is one poster in particular who always uses large, bold font in a different color and for some reason that really bothers my eyes. You would think it would be better because it would seem easier to read, but maybe because my eyes need to adjust from one type of font to another, it is troublesome. I've always wanted to ask this but have been afraid of being flamed.

I don't like it either, the default font/color is usually in place because it easy on the eyes.

I am not one that usually cares about grammatical mistakes, but the paragraph thing bothers me too. It is just so hard to read, so I usually just go onto the next post or hope I can get the jist of the story in the responses.

Rule of thumb is usually 5-6 sentences and then you should start a new paragraph.

I won't flame you and hope no one else does either. It used to bother me than I thought maybe this poster needs it like this because they may have sight limitations just guessing

But I happen to agree. It's enough work to read a long post that is well-written, or a short post that is poorly written. I don't even try to read long posts that are poorly written.

Perhaps it's me that you're speaking of? And yes - it's a sight problem.. No flames - it's simply a matter of doing what I have to do..

I do use paragraphs though - so at least that's something..

No, it's not. I was very polite and trying to be helpful. I really feel bad when someone has a serious problem and is asking for help, but when I can't read the post I can't give a response.
