My 4 year old Siamese is very sick. He hasn't been himself and we brought him to the vet yesterday. He had a high fever and was dehydrated, but the x-rays and FIV and feline leukemia tests were all negative, but that doesn't mean that it isn't some other type of cancer or something else. His white blood cell count is very low and the vet can't figure out what is wrong with him. They gave him fluids (under the skin) and a shot of antibiotics. They are retesting the blood work in the lab this morning, hoping to get some better idea of what is happening.
He spent the entire night under the covers sleeping with DH and I (and to me he felt cooler), but still hasn't eaten or drunk anything in a couple days.
If the vet gets the same results from the lab, I'm not sure what we will do.
I may try to get a second opinion at another vet. I know Meezer is counting on us to make the right decisions, but it's so hard to know what to do.
Thank you.

on the way. Hope you get some answers soon!
I feel like I've been crying all day.
Really, I could have stayed, but those benches are very uncomfortable. They are going to call once they have the U/S results and if they see what they think they'll see, he'll go into surgery tonight. I knew there was a reason I had paid that credit card off...

After reading your first posts I was going to suggest Tufts but I see that he is already there, and as you said, if they can't figure out what is wrong then no-one can. I hope they can work their magic and get him back on his four feet once again. We have spent lots of time (and $$$$) at Tufts, but when your babies are hurting you'll do anything to help them.
