Yes I know strange request! My DH and I are seriously considering doing an add on and I really want to go with BCV. We've had no luck getting in there at the 7 month window so we haven't actually stayed there, but have walked the grounds and have explored a good bit to get a feel for the resort. I'm in love. BUT having never stayed there I want to know if there is anything I'm overlooking through my rose colored glasses! Thanks for all your input! :thumbsup2

I wasn't thrilled with the views. Would I stay there again? Absolutely! It's just that I missed my Boardwalk view at BWV. I thought the staff was great and the location was wonderful too. It was a bit of a walk to SAB, but there's always walking at WDW. I think you'll be very happy there- especially if you like Epcot.

BCV Cons....

Pool is too congested/crowded.
Building/complex layout is tight and crowded.
Kids have to cross the walking path, leave the resort, to go down the slide.
Bus service is shared between 6 resorts.
No views.
Parking is problematic.

Enjoy your BCV ownership!

I just like being on the Boardwalk side. I do like the shorter walk to Epcot from BCV though.

I love BCV!!!!

That said, the views are horrible!! My last 3 stays I have either looked out on the lot or been so close to the street I thought I would get hit by a car on the patio!:)

SAB is my favorite pool, but it closes frequently due to weather and "natural" disasters:). The rule for thunder is closure for at least 30 minutes after the last sound of thunder so a pool day can quickly change.

No Community Hall. On rainy days not much to do. Most rec activities are outside.

Limited indoor counter service (hot food)

walking to parks is great but in rain or heat or when you just don't feel like walking, the shared transpo system is time consuming.

Rarely have I received a room prior to 3pm

If I want to stay there I need to book at 11 months and rarely is there flex to add nights due to sched or flights

I love BCV and find nothing wrong with it! Love our time spent there! Also, we've never had to share a bus with 6 resorts during our stays, which are usually in May/June. We walk to Epcot, walk or boat to DHS, drive to AK, and take the BC/YC (only stops) bus to MK.

Just stayed there for our 2nd time. It is a long haul to the main pool; however I would say the same of VWL. I didn't like the fact that the kids had to go so far to use the pool slide - but now that my kids are older - it's not as big of a concern. We were on the 2nd floor (both times I've stayed there), I think I wouldn't like the 3rd floor rooms due to the small balconies. But, with that being said - we love BCV and are happy we have been able to stay there twice when booking at the 7 month window.

I have stayed at VWL (my home resort), BWV, BCV, OKW, HH & VB and BCV is my favorite on property!!!!!

The lack of a better CS dining option. Even compared to the other deluxe resorts, BC/YC is definitely lacking there. Other than that, I love everything about BCV.

We love BCV and talk about adding there as well. But in keeping with your request, we found that the sofa pull-out was not very comfortable for adults - kids don't really seem to care. But I couldn't imagine having to sleep on that pull-out more than 2 or 3 nights tops!

Bus service with 6 resorts? Swan, Dolphin, Boardwalk, Yacht Club and Beach Club - 5 resorts. Am I missing one? I've been there many times when it's is just BWV, YC and BC, and sometimes it's just been YC/BC.

I love the parking at BCV! There is always space in the lot by the Villas.

I have to agree about the views. Not the best, but I love BCV so much that they really don't bother me that much. I'm so happy to be so close to Epcot, and I just love being in the BC area.

A few cons are no community hall, higher points and small rooms

We love BCV. Pros

Great pool
Close to epoch and MGM
Nice beach
Character breakfast/cape may
Fireworks
Espn
Boardwalk proximity
Walk to epcot restaurants

There aren't too many things I don't like but I don't like that-
1. There's only one sink in the vanity. Every where else I've been has two.
2. No more gelato in the Marketplace
3. The hot tub/jacuzzi at the BCV pool doesn't work too well
4. From DH, the hallways are COLD!

Lack of a good CS. The marketplace is ok, but not as good as the Contempo Cafe was when we stayed at BLT. The views are not great. That said, we LOVED BCV after staying there. I wasn't prepared to love it as much! So definitely add on. I *hope* to buy there soon, it was amazing!

What don't I like about BCV? Having to leave!!! :rotfl:

Seriously, the only thing I could possibly complain about - and it's kinda silly - is that I find the common areas (including hallways as someone else mentioned) too cold!

I am looking to add-on there as well. I put it in my signature, in hopes of "putting it out to the universe". We hope to add on in the next few months, just waiting for the right UY! Good Luck to us both! :thumbsup2

I thought BCV would be a no-brainer favorite DVC for us. Epcot is our favorite park, we love the location, like the pool, like the Marketplace, really like the theming/atmosphere of the grounds and lobby. Our first stay there was January 2010 and we were a little underwhelmed. We had a split stay with an SV studio in AKV Kidani, which was fabulous. Coming from that new resort, everything in our BCV room looked a little shabby. The couch was the worst offender. The view was terrible. Sharing a bus with so many resorts was tedious. Nothing was bad, but we didn't feel the magic we anticipated. I fully expected we would be adding on at BCV, but after we actually stayed there, we decided not to.

Will we stay there again? Absolutely! But our family's unanimous consensus (yes, even the 2 year old), was that our heart is at AKV.

* I don't like that it is a long walk to the main pool and that you have to walk through the very nice lobby to get there.

* I also don't particularly like most of the views. Most of them are of trees and shrubbery or of the road the runs between the Beach Club and Boardwalk.

* The bus system is the pitts. But it's the same for BWV so I don't hold it against BCV a lot.

* I find it easy to get lost at BCV. The hallways seem to branch out in random directions.

I hope that all of those negatives have now convinced someone to cancel their reservation at BCV in mid-late August. I'm on the wait list .

We don't care for the views and Disney transportation.

We like being close to the parking lot, (we rent a car now), and the layout and theming of the BC, lobby and main building.

Lets see.....

After some serious thought, we changed our reservations from BCV to BCI for our post-Thanksgiving trip. We are not DVC guests....but stay at DVC properties often because our favorite WDW companions are DVC owners. We travel to WDW and DL multiple times each year and DVC accommodations have been available at drop-dead castmember rates the last couple of years....so we have stayed often.

Yes, we worried about the view --- who wants to pay even castmember rates and look at the parking lot or street behind the building.

Marketplace is an improvement - but quick dining options are limited......similar comment for BWV.

Bus system - Disney should be ashamed of their bus service for these high end resorts. We now rent cars exclusively after a few BWI/BWV and BCI stays.

Finally, as I said, we just changed to BCI - after looking at photos of renovated rooms at BCV and BCI on Allears. The BCI rooms are beautiful. The furniture and colors of the new BCV rooms are just clunky, dark and not at all to our taste.

We DO enjoy DVC accommodations.....especially the last couple of years when castmember rates have been awsome!! Grand Cali - drop-dead -beautiful rooms...Kidani - too far from everything or us but the property is just beautiful. WLV - love it, but we have always had a soft spot for the Wildie.

Some of the newer DVC renovations have left us uninspired. I know for some this is not important. There are, however, just too many choices for us at WDW and DL....and decor can be a factor.

I know.....I know.....we aren't DVC so our opinions have no merit. To that I say....we are totally objective. We travel to Disney often and rarely stay in one resort exclusively. Staying in different properties, we have a chance to really get to know the choices.

We have never tried BCV - but that icky decor pushed us right into the BCI. Now there is one more BCV room for someone else who loves the property.

  1. No good views
  2. Lack of a decent CS restaurant
  3. Pool too far away
  4. The darn birds on the YC dock, I got pooped on because I sat on "their" bench. :rotfl2:

-the views (we prefer the stunning BWV views to a view of a street - for the same amount of points! :confused3)
-the noise - the lobby is incredibly loud, as are the hallways. we had to search to find some peace, which was always quickly interrupted by screaming, crying, etc :headache: this is probably the only (DVC and non)resort i was never able to read an entire book at.
-the main pool - it's just incredibly loud and congested (literally shoulder to shoulder in warm weather, and just try to get a lounge chair or two:sad2:)
-no community hall

it is a beautiful resort, cape may has a great buffet, and the YC side is a step into heaven :cloud9:. we just find the BCVs lacks the upscale atmosphere we prefer. (btw, we do own there, but either use our points at 7 months elsewhere, preferably BWVs, or rent them out).
