Please tell me this really is not a pet peeve.

It does get congested at a grocery store with a whole family-got to agree with her

I can't stand it either.....I don't understand why people need to bring their whole fam damily to the grocery store.....

I hate grocery shopping anyway especially if I have to fight my way though all the people...

It does bother me at the grocery store. However, our local store is OLD - narrow aisles, very long, lots of seniors... If I see a mom, dad, and kids, I wonder why dad couldn't have just stayed home with them. ).

I don't hate children...I have two of my own...BUT I really hate grocery shopping and when I have to navigate around a billion people because the whole fam damily had to grocery shop together I get annoyed.

I don't know why anyone would WANT to go shopping with the whole family in tow. It's so much easier, more pleasant, and cheaper to leave them behind.

:thumbsup2:thumbsup2 I agree- the food store is crowded enough without making it a famiy day trip! Its especially bad when parents don't keep the kids contained in the cart and they are darting in frontof yours---or even better is when they let the little angels push the carts and they ram peoples ankles the whole time!!!

Ohhh, nobody ever said it couldn't be her pet peeve.

But, honestly, to have such a problem with seeing families together.

If these people can have their pet peeve, then others can and will have their opinions.

My opinion: It can be a pet peeve, but I don't think that it is a normal, healthy, positive attitude.

I think the title of the thread "Please tell this really is not a pet peeve" implied that it couldn't be a pet peeve..... I agree, not normal, but anything can be a pet peeve.

What I meant when I wrote that was, please tell me that something like this really does not ruin your day. That is what I meant by please tell me this is not a pet peeve. Not that it could not actually be one. Just that I cannot believe someone would use that term when talking about it.

Do pet peeves ruin anyone's day? I thought a pet peeve was a minor annoyance? :confused3

For this girl, yes it ruins her day when familes are shopping at the same store as she is. For a normal person, this would not ruin their day but for her, it does.

Grocery shopping ruins my whole day....I really really hate it....and if there are a billion people there in my way it does not make me happy. I wouldn't say it ruins my whole day....but it annoy me at the time.

I shop with a plan and at a high speed, so anything that impedes my progress can be bothersome at times!

This is me, get in and get out.
If I have to bring the kids they behave, but also end up buying lots of stuff I wouldn't have bought,
and hubby does it too, we get to the register, and there are many items in the cart that I didn't have on my list....LOL

we sometimes all go to BJs together, its easier for me to bring hubby to help me with it all since I try to only go once a month, but we don't go at crowded times, we go at like 8 pm on a tuesday night......LOL

once i had a cashier at the stop and shop tell me that back in her day they "never would bring kids shopping and she can't understand why people would", and i had my kids with me, so I asked her if she thought I should have left them home alone since I had no one to watch them and dh was working ( he works long crazy hours sometimes ) and we need food.
she just stared at me.

Now that I think of it, although my kids have been with me shopping many times (SAHM), DH has been to Costco twice, Target once, always with me (yesterday we went to Costco, and he told me not to put items on the conveyer belt, because the person in front of us still had stuff in their cart - I informed him that you leave heavy items in the cart to be scanned:lmao:). Both are 5 minutes from our home.
