I know February is massively different but I am dying to see the que and it sounds like my parents are too but they are not willing to rope drop don't blame them just slow down the past we have all day just have to take out the commando in me and enjoy there company but my number one priority is seeing the fop que

Does the wait get 60min or below at all during the day

FOP . . I haven't seen any posts suggesting a wait of under 60 minutes yet, but I might have missed one. Additionally, this is only July. FOP is very new, and very popular. It will be a little less new in February, and the park crowds will be a little different. I don't expect that is going to make enough of a difference to see 60 minute or less waits though. Right now, according to MDE the wait is over 3 hours.

Hope for what? A less than 60 minute standby line? Possible, but not likely
Do you need your parents or can you go without them?

Rope drop, mid-afternoon, and late in the evening tend to have the shortest waits.
I've gone on it several times about 1 hours before park close and even though it was posted as 120 minutes each time I've never waited more than 65-70 minutes at that time. Once it was only 45 minutes.
Of course February is a long time from now and crowd patterns may change by then, especially depending on park hours and the timing of EMH.

I don't have to do everything with them those posters have a great point but I like the idea of doing mid afternoon to see the que

We did FOP with a 2 hour wait one afternoon and saw all of the queue. It is amazing. Two days later we rope dropped FOP and they bypass most of the queue at that time. If you want to see the queue rope drop might not be the best plan.

Would your parents' feelings be hurt if you let them sleep in and rope dropped yourself so you can experience everything? That might be the easiest.

@tinkerbellandeeyor, a few thoughts...
  • Disney posts a wait of 60min for FoP before the park even opens. Actual waits are less if you're there right at rope drop, but then you'll probably skip the queue you're hoping to see. Waits build VERY QUICKLY after that -- often hits 3hrs only 20min after park open per MDE.
  • From what I've seen on MDE and read on DIS, I really wouldn't count on less than 60min at any point except rope drop
  • Toward 10pm when the rest of AK closes -- now with nightly AK EMH being ONLY IN PANDORA -- I've been seeing MDE waits of about 110min
  • Past few days, around 11pm through the 12am close of EMH it was 75min
  • While waits do seem to drop midday, I haven't been seeing them drop below about 115min
Note that as you and others have said, this may well look quite different in Feb. But keep checking here... I'm sure SOMEONE will be looking closely at wait times around that time!! :)

ETA: And just to show how much these things vary, right now -- 10:52pm the FoP wait in MDE is 190min... yesterday at this time it was 85min!! I think the good news is that you'll have much more experiences of others and months of MDE waits to go on before Feb rolls around!! :)

I can do 75 but not sure about 2 hr

Side note when my family is ready to go back can I ride back to the resort with them so I can help dh back in the room and go back to AK

I don't see why not but wanted to make sure Disney was okay with this

ETA dh we'll be in a ecv that's why he can't get in and out of the room independently wish Disney would change that

Yes, you can return to the same park with just the base ticket. If your parents are returning to the resort the same time as your DH, couldn't they assist him with getting in the room? And I thought we worked out ways for your DH to get back to the room independently on your thread on the DISabilities board?

at this time I don't think you can count on a less than 60 minute standby line. I did get in it when the line said 90 minutes and it took about an hour, not an hour and a half. Current wait time is 150 minutes. Back in June it was regularly 110 and sometimes went down to 90 but I don't remember it registering much higher.

Not sure what you are asking about going back to the resort with your family. You can re-enter AK at any time on the same day. Will that affect the length of the line at FOP, maybe, or maybe not, depending on the time you are planning to get in the line.

For what it's worth, wait times seem to get a bit lower after noon

It seems like you are putting an awful lot of pressure on planning your FOP visit. You can't micromanage every minute of every day for 4 adults. Do what you would like and let everyone do what they would like.
