I booked our August ADR's a few days ago and booked Le Cellier for my wife. I have been reading a lot of negative things about it and would like to hear some positive comments (honest, negative comments are ok too). I just want some feedback before I attempt to change her mind and go elsewhere.

Sorry the place is over rated. After 4x (2 lunch and 2 dinner) of either just OK or bad food I have stopped going & left the place to the swarming masses.

However I will say that the chocolate mousse from the kids menu that is shaped like a moose is not only cute but very tasty. The pretzel bread is good. They also use to have a good maple creme brulee. That is about it. None of the entrees were memorable.

The cheddar cheese soup was too peppery for me but if you like spicy things this might be nice.

I have ate there 5 times in the last four yearand always had good service and food. I love their mushroom filet mignon it melts in your mouth. I also really like the pretzel bread and the tomato stack. This is a must do for us keep your reservation.

We went in January and had a great meal. I loved the cheese soup, mushroom filet and pretzel bread. Even my kids loved it there and that says a lot. I think you will enjoy it. You can have one bad meal anywhere at anytime, but hopefully it won't happen here.

We went in June, and, while I enjoyed what I had (cheese soup, mushroom filet, chocolate moose), my mother was not as thrilled with her selection (and she had the same thing I had as far as the entree goes.) I think they gave her my steak (I prefer medium rare to her medium). BUT! She did say she could have eaten a large bowl of the mushroom risotto--nevermind the steak! (I've seen a lot of people say get the steak without the risotto, too.)

The mushroom filet, the cheddar cheese soup, the cream cheese mash potatoes, the maple creme brule and the PRETZEL BREAD. Can't comment on the other things because I always get the same thing.

I thought the food was good but what I remember the most was the smores. I loved how they were presented, very cool!!:thumbsup2

Do not believe all of the negative reviews you read. One place can never please everyone but Le Cellier does a pretty good job at it. It is one of the most popular restaurants at WDW.
My favs are the mushroom risotto (mmmmmmmmmmmm) and that extra yummy cheddar cheese soup as well as the mushroom filet. I have only had the chocolate whiskey cake as it was the easiest thing to take "to go" as I was too full to eat it right after my meal.
We are planning a return visit this fall.

We ate there last week and it was our favorite meal of the trip. The mushroom filet and risotto was delicious. The cheddar soup was fantastic. I had some crazy smores thing for dessert that was pretty cool. We've decided we will eat there every time we go to Disney. We just made reservations for a weekend trip for our 10th anniversary. Can't wait. YUM!

We've been there several times and always had a great dinner. It is my favorite place to dine (even more so than Yachtsman.) DH and I always do some sort of steak (Mushroom Filet, NY Strip, or prime rib.) We've always had excellent service and our steaks have always been cooked perfectly.

You just have to keep in mind:

1. There are lots of negative Neds and Nancys out there...just like the lady that sat across from us at dinner tonight complaining about her meal the entire time AS SHE ATE IT. She didn't want the waitress to do anything, but she wanted to talk to the manager as she ate the last bite. Classy.

2. There are no guarantees. You can go to a top notch place and still have a bad experience- bad food or bad service. Its just part of life.

I hope you enjoy your dinner!

We have always had a great meal and great service at LeCellier! It is definitely one of our "must do" restaurants! In fact, most trips, we eat here twice!

The cheese soup is a favorite of mine, the steaks are good, the salads are good, and my DD LOVES the smores!!!

Have a great time!!!

We love Le Cellier; we've always experienced excellent food and service. The only reason it's not on our list this trip is because I promised we'd only go new places (except on birthday meal each per kiddo). Part of me is regretting that decision;

guess it's time to go make more of the Le Cellier soup!

We have eaten there 5 or 6 times and the only complaint was the salmon sand. for lunch. Otherwise everything has been great.:thumbsup2

It was our best meal of our whole trip!! It was soooo yummy!!

I had the cheddar cheese soup, and the filet with the risotto. OMG, it was amazing!! It just melted in my mouth. And, the pretzel bread was sooo good with the soup!! For dessert I had the maple creme brulee. It was good, I really like creme brulee, but I like mine cold, not sure if it supposed to be that way, but thats how I like it!! LOL, it wasnt cold, but it wasnt exactly hot. But, it still had good flavor.

My hubby also had the soup, he said it was okay. That really did not surprise me, he is kind of a picky eater. He did enjoy the pretzel bread though. His main course he had the Salt-crusted Prime Rib. He was really impressed with this!! For dessert he had the choc moose. it was sooo good!! I will get that next time instead of the creme brulee. Hubby liked it too, he said it was perfect, not too rich and he ate every bit of it!!

Thank you all for taking the time to comment. I think I will keep the reservation as this will be a first time for us. I find that I don't try enough new places, seem to stick with what we know. I love the sounds of some of the food though...cheddar soup and steak :goodvibes . I'm not a big fan of mushrooms, can a non-mushroom person enjoy the mushroom filet? It seems to get good reviews.

All positive for us, too. Been 5 times over the past 6 years, and all have been great. Last time we got their appetizer sampler, mushroom filet, and choc cake and creme brulee for dinner. All VERY good. My DD14 subbed the cream cheese potatoes for the mushroom risotto (I think they're pretty flexible about changing out the starches), and she thought it was good as well. I will say that I've had better steaks at WDW (Artist Point, for example), but Le Cellier is a good value. The prices are reasonable, and the food very good.

We love Le Cellier! It's just really great food, in an atmosphere that is "nice" but not so nice that a redneck like me feels like she's not supposed to be there, LOL! (I always feel that way in places with white tablecloths, dress codes, and maitres'd instead of hosts/hostesses.)

While waiting to be seated after we checked in, DH and I chatted with a guy who'd just come out and whose family was in the restrooms. He said he'd just had "the best meal of my life". I was looking forward to LC, but didn't want to oversell it in my mind, so I took his words with a grain of salt.

Well, I came out with the same opinion! I don't even like mushrooms, but got the mushroom filet anyway, and YUM. Chicken sausage chipotle appetizer...YUM. Chocolate mousse...YUM...better than the mousse in France's patisserie! Just a great, great meal. I wasn't expecting the cheese soup to be spicy, which threw me, but I think I'd order it again and enjoy it! The pretzel breadsticks and sourdough breadsticks were great too.

I'd say get the mushroom risotto on the side and see if you like it. Though, you can always sub the cream cheese mashed potatoes or another starch too. But I am a definite non-mushroom person, and on a whim I just decided to get the steak as is...and it was fantastic! Not your standard mushroom-y taste at all.

We thought Le Cellier was a thoroughly charming experience. The Cast Members there are JUST adorable. They are proud of their country and it shows. Our waiter had a great sense of humor and made the night fun.

The breads were just delicious. My husband loved the mussels (which were a recommendation of our server at Brown Derby earlier in the week), and the mushroom filet. I had a nice vegetarian pasta (maybe a pumpkin ravioli?) which was good, if not great. We had no room for dessert, so I guess we enjoyed our food!

Their wine list features Canadian wines which is very interesting.

Yes, the tables were close together, but we enjoyed chatting with the newlywed couple next to us, and eavesdropping on the arguing couple on the other side. It was kind of like free dinner theater ....

We're planning a return visit next year.

Oh, and this may be irrelevant and kind of umm, rude of me to mention, but having an ADR here can make you feel pretty special when the restaurant is turning away walk-ups right and left and those poor souls are looking at you with envy. ;)

I am so glad to read the reviews. I am just as excited about this as DW. I think I will try the mushroom filet. So many glowing reviews. Thanks again!!!

I can't find a description of the Smores dessert on any of the usual sites can someone tell me about it? We are eating there in March and that sounds like something I would enjoy.
