Please tell me the best and worst things about ASMO!

Wow, we have only stayed at Sports so far, but I loved the beds there - I found them so unbelievably comfortable. I guess I just like soft beds.
I completely agree with you MJames....I have stayed at ASMu and we ...
LOVED the Beds.. best sleep we ever had was at WDW(could've been the walking at all the parks but who knows...)
Anyone who wants to feel like they are at WDW every minute they are at WDW Resorts needs to stay at the ALL STAR RESORTS... Kids everywhere looking in Awe at everything around them...
Love the excitement of the ALL STAR resorts...

The rooms are entirely too small. The theming is good, but the food courts are ok. Not great, just ok. We had a better selection at CS. Way better.

The buses are too crowded all the time! A very noisy resort, so don't expect much sleep. I also agree with the toilets flushing!

We went to stay there on one trip and after the first night asked to be moved and we ended up at CS and it was much, much better! You couldn't get me to stay at any of the all stars again even if it was for free!

Have to say I agree I wouldn't stay at an All Star Resort again for free! Twice I gave them a chance and 2nd time was worse. They are extremely noisy. The rooms are small but they are clean. First time I went to the Sports was just my son and myself, the room was ok, everything else from check-in to the pools was extremely crowded. The next time went to Music only because the friends we went with didn't want to spend anymore for a room. This time it was 3 in the room and felt too small. Again too noisy and no relaxation at all. Even the CM's are not as helpful as at the other resorts. I guess I feel there's more to a Disney Vacation than just the Parks. We go at least once a year and have enjoyed and relaxed in each resort we have stayed except All Stars.

So... Which areas of ASMo would be the least loud? Of the 5 themes, would Fantasia or Love Bug be any less loud than the other more popular movies?

Is it possible to request a less busy area and actually get it?

Are there elevators if you are on the top floor?

How do you go about making a request for a room?

megan&joeysmommy, we have only stayed in the Dalmations section but I would think that Herbie the Love Bug would be the quietest. Because it is at the back of the resort there should be less foot traffic and I don't think the play area there is as popular as the ones in the Toy Story and Dalmations sections. It is also far enough from the main pool that noise from it should not be a problem. This probably makes it sound like it is too far from all the resort amenities but I don't think so - ASMo is very compact compared to the other All Stars.

You can request a particular area and you are probably more likely to get your request for a quieter area than a request for Toy Story or Dalmations - they are both very popular. You can put in your request when you make your reservation or call back later and have it added. The sooner the better, tho. Many people also fax their requests directly to the resort a few days before arrival - I have read of varying degrees of success with this but many say they have had more luck getting their requests by faxing them in. Whichever way you go, if you have more than one request be sure to put them in order of priority and bear in mind that they will probably only be able to fill the first one or two on the list unless you are going during a VERY slow time of year.

BTW, all the buildings do have elevators. Hope this helps.:)

We just returned having stayed at Disney moderate and deluxe resorts before the ASMo was just as nice. ASMo theming is more like disney than any other resort. The kids just loved it. We had 2 16 year olds, a 12 and 5 year old. The rooms was just a little smaller than a moderate room. We also had 2 rooms which connected giving us the luxury of a sleeping room and a tv room on days we needed a rest.

We really enjoyed the variety of the food court. Do get the $10.99 refillable mugs. We were there for 8 days and they paid for themselves in the first 2 days.

Mousekeeping was excellant. We came back to the room almost everyday. To our delight we seen displayes in the windows to aranged stuffed animals sleeping in our beds or the TV on for our youngest son mickey mouse setting up in bed watching disney cartoones.

The only draw back was when we checked in and out we had to carry our own luggage but for the value of this resort that was fine buy us.

The pools was nice and heated. The laundry rooms were clean but costly. $2 to wash and $2 to dry but the clothes was dry when the dryer stopped.

Great photo spots all over this resort. Andy's Room, giant dalmations, TV and puppy, Fantasia area, hurb the love bug, the pools.

We were in the number 4 building which was the dalmations on the back side facing a quit pined area on the 2nd floor. Not much foot traffic in the evenings and very quiet. We also noticed a lot of baseball players at this resort but not much noise. I think it was do to our location because we meet up with friends and the were in the other dalmations building a said it got loud out in the main court yard 2 different nights but we didnt hear a thing.
