Please Tell Me More About Dining Plans!!!

it depends -- if you would like to eat at the sit down restr. around the World, then it tends to be cheaper to do the dining plan. There is a thread about dining plans at the top of the DISNEY REST forum that has a lot of information about it. Also go to all ears net .com for more information.

There are 4 of us (2 adults/2 children). We had the dining plan last July and will use it again this July. We really enjoyed going to the restr. You have to make Advanced Dinning Reservations if you are going during a busy time or have some restr that you want to be sure to go to. It does lock you in a bit and doesn't allow as much flexibility -- but we worked it out without too much of a problem.

With the Disney Dining experience, you not only get 20% of your meals, but it includes your drinks as well. If you plan on eating out a lot and having a drink or 2 with your meals, it's definatley worth it! :drinking1

We are a family of 4 10dd and 6ds, dh and me. We like to eat a lot of table meals so it will benefit us alot. This is our first time and who wants to be worring so much about our food bill. Have Fun!!!!! :thumbsup2 :cool1:

How can these be cost effective?

You pay $38 per Adult per day, $11 per child per day. For that price, you get a FULL TABLE SERVICE MEAL which includes appetizer, entree, dessert and non-alcoholic drink...it also INCLUDES tax and tip!!!, you get a FULL COUNTER SERVICE MEAL which includes entree, side dish, drink and dessert, and 1 snack which could be a Mickey Bar, Popcorn, Mickey Head Rice Krispy Treat, Soda, Piece of fruit, etc.

Also, when you use your credits, even if you pay $11 for the child plan per day, they have it in the system as 1 meal...there is no way to differentiate whether the credit is for a child or an adult. So in actuality, you can use that child credit for an Adult meal that day if you want!! For example, if you get counter service, you don't have to order the kids meal. You can order a regular adult meal and use your childs credit for it!

Seems like SUCH a great deal...especially if you enjoy eating a NICE Table Service meal every single day.

I have a question about the dining plan. I have two sons who dont eat alot. Could I get one child's plan for the week and split the two meals you get each day between the two boys? The snack we would just buy another snack. It's alot of food in one day for a child. Thanks for the help. :maleficen

The short answer here is "no."
You must purchase the plan for everyone in your party.
