We (Me, DH & DD 2-1/2) are staying at Pop Century for the first time 9/4 to 9/11. I can't help but thinking we should be staying at a nicer hotel because we got such a good deal with the 7 for 5 package.

I want to stay at Corronado or Wilderness Lodge but I know DD will most likely love Pop Century the best. The extra money can go towards more gifts for her too.

So why can't I be happy with staying at Pop Century??

Thanks for letting me vent :D

We'll be doing PC for the first time next month, and my girls (10 and 13) are more excited about staying there than at AKL...

We have never stayed at PC , but have stayed at the other value resorts and they really are fine. HOWEVER, WL is our favorite resort and after staying there, it would be hard to go back to value. AT 2 1/2, I think your child will be happy anywhere. WL is a wonderful place for little ones. The pool is very nice and the resort is much smaller, making it easier to get around. The boat to MK means quick transportation and much more fun than a bus. Getting to the other resorts is so much easier too. Just boat to CT and catch the momorail to the other resort or TTC and on to Epcot.
If you can affort it, I say go for WL, DD will be just as happy and you will be much happier. It does not take many gifts to make one that little happy. Time with her parents will be the best gift of all.

HAve fun either palce.

Jordans mom

I agree with Jordan's mom. She's too young and she won't remember. It's at ages 6, 7, 8, and 9 you will have to have meetings about the Family Vacation experience. LOL. Don't worry, go with what makes you happy while you still have the chance. :D

Sort of. I am taking DBF for the first time in January and I really want to stay at AKL for the whole trip. So far I have settled for splitting it between AKL and Pop... but I am trying to talk myself into one night at AKL and the rest Pop. DBF saw the pictures for Pop and thinks it looks really fun!
But I want his first Disney experience to be amazing.

So I understand what you're saying. But if they've never experienced Disney before, I think anything is going to be impressive.

You know what else is out there, but she doesn't, so I think you're doing the right thing :) Now if only I can tell myself that same thing!

I think you're suffering some ill-effects of super-planning. I recognize the symptoms from experience!:yo-yo:

You will have a great time. There is always something nicer/bigger/more perfect if you keep looking. Pop Century was built by Disney-it will be great. Now you will be able to say that you've stayed there. We have a goal to stay once at each resort. Otherwise, how will you know which is your favorite? How will you appreciate a deluxe if you don't stay at a value resort?

Enjoy your trip! We'll be there at the same time!

POP is a wonderful resort! We just returned yesterday from a 10 night stay and were very happy here. The moderate and deluxes are great but POP has so much energy. It is bright and fun and the CMs are wonderful. The pools are a nice size and the food in the food court is very good! I just did a review on the resorts board if you are interested.

tara, will it help to know that a fellow long-islander will be at pop the same time as you? we're there from 8/30 to 9/6 and i'm really looking forward to it!!

have you been over to the pop century faq board? there are some great pics and a ton of awesome info that just might get you a bit more excited...

and like the other poster said... IT'S DISNEY! you're bound to love it (and if not, after two days, switch resorts, it's a slow time of year so there should be no trouble getting a room elsewhere)

ENJOY!

Pop Century was fun. We were there in July for 4days/3nights and my DKs (14, 8) loved it.

It's the fun you share with your family that will make the trip. We've stayed at a variety of the WDW resorts and the accomodations have always been top notch. Be happy you are staying on property - I think that makes the visit better.

You are doing the right thing. Feel great about it. Make the magic happen!
