Please tell me Free Dining is coming back!!

I JUST missed the deadline to boook for free dining for September. Will it come back??? I can't believe I missed the booking date!!!!

There is no way to know what will come up next...if anything. This big extension to FD was a first...in the past is was only offered in the spring for August-September.

I'm with you. My mom just mentioned planning another trip and asked me to come along. I can't believe I missed the deadline by only a few days!

I agree. I am in the same boat. Have been on the fence for booking in March due to finances. Went this morning to price it out again to see if I missed anything price wise and noticed it wasn't available anymore. We shall see if reservations slow down whether or not they offer it again after the first of the year. My guess they will. Money just doesn't go as far as it used to. Disney needs to fill rooms up, and it looks like free dining is the best way. It sure is for me. Prices have gone up so much in the last 5 years, it is amazing. It cost more now for my family to stay value with QS than it did 3 years ago to stay Mod with Dining plan for the same time periods.

Yup, it's hard to justify the expense these days. DH and I are not planning on returning again until the renovations are 'done' in Fantasy Land. That's what, 3 years away? This tentative trip with my mother would be just swell! If they offer Free Dining, I bet we'd stay on property. I hope she decides to do this and lets me start planning. She was also thinking of doing a cruise or an all-inclusive some where tropical. I'm trying to steer her towards Disney!

Yeah. The free dining saves us about $500 for the trip even after the current promo of 20% off rack rates. Just couldn't pull the trigger on it though. The future still looks unstable as I am self employed.

I'm hoping they extend FD so we can take another Thanksgiving trip. We had a blast with FD last year.

They usually pull it back out for the summer when they get all the mileage they can from the spring discounts. I wouldn't be surprised to see it come back by next March for the summer.

I finalized booking the trip and airfare at about PM on the last day. The main reason we pulled the trigger was the free dining offer ending, and the airfare was good too!

Right ! Plus, historically they have never offered a promo for more than 3 years running.

Sorry to hear you missed the booking deadline, I myself was on the fence for over a month and finally decided just days before the promotion was due to end to switch our dates and book the FD, I am sure something else will come along for the fall but I have piece of mind knowing I at least have FD for our week and can always change if something better comes out later.
It was somewhat strange that they offered the FD going into the Fall so early as compared to other years when it did not come out until the spring.

What scared me into booking mainly was the fact of talk last year of cut backs on the discounts so I wanted to get it while I could.

Obviously, without a crystal ball there is no telling what they are gonna do ever! The 4/3 was unprecedented until they did it two years in a row (still bummed they didn't do it one more....)

I was just trying to be a little positive, and give the OP some hope.
