Haven't eaten in WS much, I guess do to watching our spending money while on Vaca....But the Meal plan has changed all that!!!!! So I need some advice.

I booked Italy for a night but haven't heard much about it. I am trying to decide if it would be worth a TS for Dinner on the Meal Plan. We are staying at BCV and I have booked a sort of "eat around the world" tour for our dinners - but if Alfredo's is only so-so I would rather revisit a resturant I have heard rave reviews on like Le Cellier.

Can anyone give me a mini review? Atmosphere / food quality? Thanks so much!

I think you will find this one of the places with a very mixed review. Some will rave others not.

My wife and I are on the not side. We have tried it three times over the past 10+ years. It's not bad but we have found so much better options at WDW. When combined with other places like Canada, France, Japan, and outside of Epcot The Flying Fish, and more we choose to bypass it on every visit even with our April trip.

I'm sure there are many people that just love it but if I average it out the + and - it's comes out as just an average place to us.

Thanks and good luck on working out the dining schedule. It's one of my favorite tasks for every vacation.

Our 2 favorite World Showcase TS are Alfredo's & Teppanyaki. We thought LeCellier didn't live up to the hype.

One thing I will say about Alfredo's is that it is most definately NOT the place to go if you want a quiet, leisurely meal. We have always had good food & good service.

I really like Alfredo's, but like a previous poster said, it certainly gets mixed reviews.

Personally, we've always had great meals & service. As long as we had ADR's, our waits have never been more than a few minutes (I'd NEVER go here unless I had ADR's because the waits are soooo long).

My one and only disappointment with Alfredo's is that it is very crowded. They have entirely too many tables crammed into the restaurant, making it sometimes difficult to maneuver around. Other than that, no complaints at all.

Yes, it is waaaay to crowded! That is the only thing we did not enjoy about our experience but it was enough that I would not go back.

DH and I loooove Alfredos.

actually on our last trip we ate there several times- i had the gnocci pomadoro- cant remember if it is on the menu- i am a vegetarian- they may have just suggested they would make it.... but it was delish!

i agree- it is very crowded, but if you have ressies- the crowd doesnt really bother you because you are at your table. actully i like that atmosphere- i came from a big italian family and on sundays at my grandmothers house it was always so crowded- we had to eat in shifts!!! :rotfl2:

i love the songs they sing- it reminds me of when i was a kid-- its really fun.

try it....you like it! ;) ....and have some wine, you wont care so much about the crowds!

MANGIA!

I am one of the mixed reviews :) .

The first time we ate at Alfredo's, it was wonderful. I had the fettucine alfredo (I know, I know...heart attack on a plate, but I very rarely eat it! :goodvibes) and my DH had lasagna. I could not eat fettucine alfredo anywhere else for months because it did not live up to the "real" thing at Alfredo's. DH thought the lasagna was fabulous.

The next year we went back to Alfredo's. Once again, I had the fettucine. It was not even close to as good as the first time. It had an extremely strong taste. DH had veal and did not like it at all. :sad2:

We have not been in the past two years. We just cannot bring ourselves to go back when there are so many other restaurants we love and have had wonderful food every time we have gone to them.

Sorry, I know that did not help any, but, like I said, I'm one of the mixed reviews.... :confused3

I agree, I watch what I eat, but the Alfredo is the best I have ever tasted.
One more thing, we were surprised that we were charged for each soft drink refill!!!!!!!!

DH, DS and I had a WONDERFUL lunch there in February. It was one restaurant DH really wanted to try. I told him of all the mixed reviews, and he said he was willing to give it a go.

It was great. Not terribly crowded at lunch, our waitress ADORED DS and fussed all over him, and the food was very very good.

I think your chances of getting a very good meal might be better at lunch rather than dinner.

We enjoyed our lunch at Alfredo's. The service was absolutely impeccable. Very attentive and friendly!!!

IMO Alfredo's was one of, if not the worst meals we had in Disney. It was extremely loud with not much room. The service was not only rushed but completley rude. The food was akin to Macaroni Grill or Olive Garden. We had fellow NY/NJ's sitting next to us that enjoyed their meal. Maybe they hadn't stepped out into a real italian joint, but I highly doubt it. I would not suggest Alfredo's to anyone and would pick Le Cellier Hands down. Not that I think Le Cellier is amazing, but it's a lot better in my book.

We enjoyed lunch there during the very crowded Easter/Spring Break last year. We didn't know we'd be in Epcot that day, so we hadn't made any reservations -- We were thrilled to get in just when they opened their doors for lunch. Don't know about mixed or poor reviews, but someone's going there, because it was really filling up as we were leaving. We'd go again, and we would recommend.

We are on the side that LOVE Alfredo's. We eat there every trip !

I am a NJ Italian and as i stated I LOOOVE the place- i would not STEP FOOT into an Olive Garden OR a Macaroni Grill if my life depended on it for real italian food!

I only frequent small family owned Italian Restaurants for the homemade food-

obviously if the NY/NJ people sitting next to jarrdisney had not problem with Alfredo's ----we must know what we are talking about! :rotfl2:

You too?? :thumbsup2

Alfredo's is our favorite! The fettuccine is great, as well as the osso bucco (sp?). VERY good!!! Nothing like the nasty Olive Garden :rolleyes2 , like a previous poster said. Service has always been over the top for us, also. Definately worth 1 TS!! :thumbsup2

i guess you are also used to your LOUD relatives at sunday dinners over grandmoms??

they just YELL- whether they are happy or mad-- the levels just gotta be.... LOUD! :rotfl2:

Future BIL is Italian...said it was perfectly authentic...down to the "crowdiness"!

We used meal credits at ALfredos and we liked it, although I recall some restrictions on what you could order. For example, there are some appetizers that are for 2, but we were told that if we ordered them, it would be for all the appetizer orders at our table (we were using 3 TS credits). If you are staying at the Boardwalk, you might consider Spoodles as an alternative. We never miss Spoodles, but only go to ALfredos once in a while.
