I'm watching the pricing for fall/winter 2017 on a thread here.

There seems to be a relatively reasonable 7 night Wonder out of San Diego on 10/15 and I am leaning towards booking it as soon as it's available.

I know that the Magic and Wonder are smaller ships- that's the extent of my knowledge.

Travel party- 1 adult and a 7 year old at the time of travel.

We are booked on the Fantasy this coming winter.

How will the Wonder compare to the Fantasy? Anyone who has done both prefer one over the other?

I will be booking a 5A midship.. Or should I try one of the large aft balconys? Recommended staterooms?

We are booked on the Fantasy this coming winter, and are doing MSC for a UK/Ireland 11 night in summer of '17.

How will the Wonder compare? Will it be enjoyable for a 7 year old? Or should I look for another Fantasy cruise (if pricing is similar)?
Our first 3 cruises were on Dream and Fantasy, last year we did the Wonder and equally enjoyed it. We have 2 teens who do not go in the clubs at all, we just hang out all day doing trivia, crafts etc. The one thing I missed most was the AquaDuck but hopefully the Wonder will be getting a new water feature this fall during dry dock I'm planning on booking one of two of the October San Diego to Mexico cruises tomorrow.

If all things were equal, my choice would be dream class, but being in AZ, I'm happy to board the Wonder anytime she's in CA, bring on more DCL!!

San Diego 10/15? Is that this year?

Looking online, I think the Wonder is pull out of service from September 9 to November 10 for reimagining / dry dock.

My preference would be to travel out of Florida, but I don't mid flying to CA, and I like the itinerary. Bonus- I have a close friend who lives there so would be the perfect excuse to get to see her :).

Is the dry dock a complete overhaul? I have read a little about the Magic, (was comparing against the Fantasy when I booked our November cruise), and I think kiddo would love the Aquadunk, will the Wonder have this as well?

No, 2017, sorry I'll edit to specify.

We have sailed on the Dream, Fantasy and the Wonder. My order of preference of those three ships is Wonder, Fantasy, Dream ;) I do enjoy all the new technology on the bigger ships but the Wonder gives me a more intimate feel (love the CMs, love the small crowds, etc). I still want to sail on the Magic some day and she where she fits into that list, LOL.

It is hard to tell what the Wonder will be like in 2017 since she is being refurbished in the fall. We are sailing on the Wonder again in August next year so I'm definitely watching for reports on what they are changing. I know she needs some updating but there are also areas that I really hope they don't change.

We are still waiting for details to be released regarding the dry dock enhancements coming this fall.

I haven't been on the Fantasy, but have been on the Dream, which is pretty similar. While the Dream class ships have more glitz in the way of water features and technology, the Wonder and Magic are my preferred ships. A bit smaller, but never seeming crowded (at least in the fall and winter when we travel), good shows, great clubs for the kids (my daughter, who is now Edge/Vibe age has loved the clubs on all the ships). I don't think you'll experience any disappointment on the smaller ships... still plenty to do and to see.

Having completed cruises on 3/4 ships (the last coming this October - Magic). My favorite is still the Dream/Fantasy. I probably prefer the Dream as far as ship goes, but hate the Bahamas itinerary. The Fantasy is so similar that I like it 99.9% as much. The Wonder was a nice ship, but it is smaller and a slight bit more claustrophobic to me. I just really enjoy the larger ships. That being said, I wouldn't hesitate to sail either the Wonder again, or the Magic depending on itinerary.

We live closer to Galveston but travel to orlando instead for dream class. The Wonder is nice but the kids prefer the other ships.
