Please tell me about the Sci-fi

I have read that it's not so great. I am leaning towards trying it. I think my son would like the atmosphere. He really loves the sci-fi channel & all those B horror flix. Is it worth it for the atmosphere alone? Thanks.

We always eat at the Sci Fi every visit, since DS(7) loves it. We have had a good meal everytime except this past one in Sept.

I had the Shrimp Prima Vera which was good, but DH had the Reuben and said it was the worst he ever had. We always had burgers in the past, and they were good, maybe stick with a burger. Have fun!

If your son is a sci fi fan, definitely go to Sci Fi! It is our family's favorite overall WDW restaurant and a must-do every trip. We are all sci fi fans, especially my older DS and DH. We love the theming at Sci Fi.

After one dinner visit with not-so-great food, we've gone for lunch every time after that. We stick with burgers (I get the veggie burger), fries, onion rings, and shakes. Those are the things that Sci Fi does very well - we think they have some of the best burgers at WDW.

OK then! I feel better. I think I will make an ADR, but make it for a late lunch, maybe around 2 or 3. Then we can grab something back at the resort for a lite dinner (CS, as we will be on the dining plan). Thanks guys!

I would say give it a try. The atmosphere is AWESOME, although I'd rate the food only fair.

Has anyone been to the Sci Fi Diner since it reopened after refurbishments in September? We ate there before the refurbishment and I was wondering what they did.

When we went the atmosphere was great. Our DS12 and DD9 loved sitting in the car and watching the movie clips. The hamburgers were good but our other choices were average. Definately ate there for the atmosphere and we weren't looking for fabulous food.

We ate dinner at Sci-Fi on 10/23. The atmosphere is worth the money for sure, but I thought my shrimp pasta entree was bland. My DH had the steak and it was okay and the veggies were tasty. I agree with another poster that said that lunch might be a better food experience. Otherwise, it was so much fun and we would love to go again anytime.

I would for sure say to go for the atmosphere! My kids just LOVE it! We do only get the burgers & I really like the rubens so we are going to pay OP for it since it is not to bad price wise and use out TS for elsewhere.

Fun atmosphere, ok food. Definitely worth trying for the experience. I wouldn't order anything fancy. We've only had burgers, fries, shakes at Sci-Fi. They are fine, nothing to write home about, but this isn't the sort of restaurant where I would order anything more ambitious than a sandwich.

Even though burgers aren't on the dinner menu, you can get one if you ask!

Go it is sooo good. We had wonderful service. Our food was great too. I highly recommend the cheese cake it comes with m and m's and carmel corn on it. Very fun. The atmoshere is great too. Very fun sitting in the cars.

It is a very unique experience, indeed. It is a lot of fun. We've been three times over the years. However, we've never had much luck with the food. Have tried a pasta dish, a blackened fish sandwich, amongst others. None was particularly memorable (although the fish sandwich really was lousy) but all were a bit pricey. We'll probably go back in a few years for the experience again. I'd recommend it just for the atmosphere and uniqueness. Order burgers, they are hard to screw up, but at $11 each they may be tough to swallow .
