Please tell me about the red WOC section

We're thinking about trying to see WOC on our arrival day to DL if there are still red FP available when we get there around noon. Until now, I've been planning to get FP at DCA opening for the blue or yellow sections, so I've researched those, but what can you tell me about red?

I see that there is a wet section near the rail, is that best? We have young kids who won't mind getting a little wet, but is it so wet that their shoes will get soaked? Are there any other spots to seek out in the red section? Do you still have to line up 2 hours early to get a good spot in this section? The night we're looking at has one show at 8:15.

This would be the best day for us to see it, but we can change around some things and do it another day if it's that much better to be in blue. Thoughts???

Thanks!

I'd probably go as close as I could get to yellow and still get a rail spot. The problem with red is that you are watching at an angle. The forward water screen can be hard to see because this.

You could avoid having to get a FP by booking dinner or a picnic meal.

You will enter from the far side of the park (not the entrance side). Get as close to the middle of the show (if looking AT the lake/show, get as far left) as you possibly can.

There is a rail section if you can get that isn't bad...we didn't want to get wet though as we were there on a cold night, but I later found out the there's a wet section in front of the rail section, so I think we would have been ok.

We saw it from the red section and it was still good...I'm hoping to see it from another section next time!

One of the most fun (Best?) spots to view WOC is all the way towards the center in the Red WET section. Get there early and go all the way to center. The far end of the Red Wet section is Dead Center of the show. It is kind of like watching a wide screen 3D movie from the center of the front row.

You will get covered with a drizzle of water, but not enough to soak your shoes. Dress warmly now. On calm nights there is very little water hitting you.

I did red in June and it was great! I was dead on center (somehow) and about 3 "rows" back from the railing. It was great and I was in the "wet zone" and boy they weren't kidding!

We were in the red wet section back in October and thought we had a great show. The only bummer was that it was windy and a gust of wind caught one of the jets and soaked us! :rotfl: The fire a bit later helped dry us and we really enjoyed the show overall. I didn't feel like we missed anything.

Sounds like the wind speed/direction might be something to consider if we're thinking about standing in the wet zone?
