My FH and I are going on our DisneyMoon in July, and here are the restaurants that I have picked for PS's. Please let me know your thoughts and opinions.

Cinderella's Royal Table (dinner on our first night)

Coral Reef Restaurant

Fulton's

Narcoossee's

Mama Melrose's

Rainforest Cafe

We have the Gold Plan, so please, if there are better options than what I have, and you know they take the Gold Plan, please let me know! As always, I appreciate all the feedback!

Also, if it's just us, and most of these PS's will be for dinner, how should we dress? Do we need to change out of the clothes we are wearing to go to the respective parks (we are matching the restaurant with the park, so that it's easier for us to get to), or can we go as we are? Thanks again!

The only one Ive eaten at out of your choices is Mama Melrose. We have eaten there 8 times and really enjoy it. You can wear your regular park clothes there, no problem.

Hi!

I think Fulton's is great! They have a wonderful menu (allears.net) and I have always had great service there.

Rainforest Cafe - I do not care for. We have only eaten there once (for dinner) and the food was horrible. The atmosphere in the restaurant is really neat, but that is it.

If you have the gold plan..doesn't that include Victoria and Albert's anymore?? If so, definately eat there.

Narcoosee's is not all that impressive.

Try Jiko, Artist Point, Flying Fish..or some of the wonderful options around the world showcase in EPCOT.

We have always loved Mama Melroses and Rainforest Cafe. (The cobb salad and LA lasagna in rainforest are excellent, as well as the capn crunch chicken finger appetizer).

Good luck!

I believe the LA Lasagna and Capt Crunch Chicken Fingers are at Planet Hollywood, not RFC. :D

May I suggest Spoodle's, Flying Fish, Calif. Grille, Jiko and Yachtsman Steakhouse. These are all great restaurants where your gold plan could be used for wonderful food.

CRT- I always think of kids here but newlyweds, I can imagine, could have a blast here too. Go for the atmosphere more than the food.

CR- I think everyone should go here at least once. The food is okay albeit expensive but the giant fish
tank is a gotta see.

Fultons- Spotty service at times but the food is teriffic. There is a lobster/crab combo for 2 that is an experience.

Narcoose's- Went here on my 25th annivesary and loved it - a real favorite of mine. Let them know you're newlyweds- they usually make a fuss.

Mama Melrose- The atmosphere is pretty neat- I call it New York Italian. The food is usually good. My only gripe is that I believe they change the menu too often.

RFC- My only truly negative experience dining-wise at WDW. Wife got sick shortly after eating there. Also,to me, this place can be experienced elsewhere

We've eaten at two of the restaurants on your list: Coral Reef and Mama Melrose.

Our Coral Reef experience was several years ago, but we had a wonderful time. I enjoyed a pasta seafood dish and the lobster bisque. Yummmm. Our waiter was very attentive without being intrusive, if you know what I mean. Park clothes are just fine, here. I'd go back in a heartbeat.

We visited Mama Melrose on our last trip, just a couple of weeks ago. Based on comments here, I ordered the chicken parmesan and a Caesar salad, and I'm so glad I did. I loved them both and can't wait to go back. As CamColt said, park clothes are just fine.

Actually, I would expect to see park clothes at every restaurant located in a park.

You are correct and when I went to Planet Hollywood in NY a few months ago, the LA Lasagna was really bad....I didn't like it at all...maybe I got a bad batch.
The Captain Crunch Chicken Fingers are awesome though, and I have made them at home and they are just as good!

We ate at CRT for dinner. It was great. Also, our PS was right before the fireworks started. They dim the lights and pump in the music from Wishes. You can see some of the fireworks from the windows. It was wonderful

When we went on our "Disneymoon" some of the places we enjoyed the most were:

Marakesh
Artist Point (they gave us a free desert to celebrate our honeymoon, it was fabulous)
Boma

and I'd highly recommend Jiko as well.

Congratulations and happy dining!

Coral Reef doesn't get great reviews

Here are some of the restaurants that would be great on the gold plan

Victoria and Alberts
Flying Fish
Citricos
Artist Point
California Grill
Fultons
Bistro de Paris
Yachtsman steakhouse
Alfredo's
Chefs de France
Jiko
Brown Derby

and there is more

Check the menus here to see what appeals to you.

Congratulations!!! Have a wonderful trip!

I like most your selections...have you ever been to Disney before? The main one I would knock off would be Rain Forest Cafe...mainly because it's not "Disney" it's a chain and you can get that in most major cities. I would stick to restaurants that are Disney exclusives.

Epcot has some WONDERFUL dining...and AK doesn't take that long to complete...so spend morning/early afternoon at AK and that night go back to Epcot to eat....I would suggest Chefs de France, Le Cellier, Alfredo's or Bistro de Paris...these would be much more romantic than RFC.

Enjoy! My husband and I love eating at the castle...I think you'll love it.

Tara

Ill comment on rainforest

we ate at the one over by AK

not really impressed...the ambience itself is cool....but the food was subpar, the drinks lacked actual ALCOHOL and it was PRICEY....I wont eat at one again

Dh and I have eaten at RFC and we liked it, however I agree with other posters. Having the gold plan I would find a Disney resturant. I know you are looking at the parks, but the resorts have wonderful choices. Enjoy!

I believe you need to be on the platinum plan in order to eat at Victoria and Alberts on a plan. In addition to V&A's I'd recommend Jiko, Yachtmen's Steakhouse, Le Cellier and California Grill. Marrakesh made me sick two weeks ago so I will avoid it in the future. Take advantage of the recreation offered on the Gold Plan we especially enjoyed taking the water sprites out on the lake between The Yacht and Beach Club and MGM Studios. We had a great time on the pontoon boats too.

On your list I've only been to Narcoosee's recently. We really like it here and ate here on our honeymoon ten years ago.

We have a RFC locally I go to often. The food is pricey (who cares on a plan) and not great - I go for the kids. Without children I wouldn't be caught dead there.

I haven't been to Coral Reef in years. Year ago it was horrible, and it doesn't tend to get great reviews currently. Unless you really want to see the fish, leave Epcot by the International Gateway and eat at the Flying Fish. Great Food.

Alaska Catdog- We can eat at basically any restaurant. Victoria & Albert's is included I am sure that is what the CM on the phone told me the other day (I'll have to call again and be sure.).. Just wasn't sure about it. Can you tell me about any of the food, or your experiences?

lmhall2000- I have been to Disney, but it has only been with my parents and siblings, so I haven't been able to eat at any big expensive restaurant, due to the expense. So this is our chance to splurge, and eat at places we may not be able to later. FH has never been, and is incredibly excited to go. I loved RFC last time I went, and picked it because I can be picky at times, so the food at Jiko wasn't something I would probably eat. Also, we don't live in a major city, so we don't have RFC, and FH said he wanted to eat there in Vegas, so I thought that he would enjoy it. But if other dinner options are better, maybe a quick lunch (share a meal or something) there would be better?

We were trying to pick restaurants in the parks to save time. Has anyone ate at Brown Derby? If we choose to eat there, what time should we do so, so that we can be out in time to watch Fantasmic? I may have to eat there instead of Mama Melrose's.

Also does anyone know if the Gold Plan includes In-Room Dining? We are staying at AKL and hear that they have some killer in-room service, and I know I will wind up wanting shrimp cocktail at midnight... Shrimp is my vice in life, can't live with out it..

Thanks for all the help! Please keep the feedback coming.. I truly appreciate the help, as the date to begin making PS's is fast approaching.:wave2:

I don't think RFC is a Disney-owned restaurant - is it included with the gold plan? I'm thinking it wouldn't be, but perhaps I'm wrong...

You can't go wrong with Le Cellier if you're a picky eater. Also Yachtsman Steakhouse has TONS of choices - you should be able to find something there.

Citricos is another restaurant you may want to look into. My DH is a picky eater and he has loved all his meals at these restaurants.

CRT- if you are going for lunch, dont order the sandwich. Too much mayo, inedible

RFC- wont eat here again, very long wait(45 minutes) after ordering. DH's Cobb salad had rotten lettuce in it, and my chicken sandwich was VERY dry. (could have used earlier mentioned mayo, ha ha)
