Like is it worth the extra bother to visit or is it just like a chain steakhouse?

Also, what is the dress code? do I need a jacket and tie or can I get in in jeans and a shirt?

It's that 48 ounce porterhouse. I just can't stop thinking about it!!

Love Shulas

It is not "just a chain steakhouse" - it is one of the ultimate steak house experiences, but you definitely pay for that experience. I think it is wort it for a special treat though :thumbsup2

Dress code is pretty much what Americans call "business casual" (i.e. troussers, short sleeve shirt or smart polo/t-shirt type top, no need for jacket or tie). However I don't think they would impose any "dress code" as such - I couldn't imagine that they wouldn't let you in if you were in jeans...

The atmosphere is quite dark and formal (think "wood panelled boardroom"). Don't think it is hugely suited to most kids - much more of an adult restaurant. Try and get a table in the main restaurant area - there are quite a few small areas off of the main restaurant, but these feel a bit isolated to me (the main restaurant has more of a subdued buzz about it...).

48oz Porterhouse - it is HUGE! Looks like a whole Sunday Roast Beef joint to me! I think that you get to join a special club if you order it AND finish it all.

Get a side order or two to split between you - the side orders are HUGE!

Save room for dessert - they have some great freshly cooked desserts (which require that you order them when you order you main course - they take a while to prepare and cook). The chocolate souffle is fantastic :)

Another thing I like about Shulas is it's location at the Dolphin - especially if you are staying off-site (or elsewhere on Disney property), it gives an excuse to walk around and enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Swan, Dolphin, Beach & Yacht Club and the Boardwalk.

Thanks Boo, Now all I've got to worry about is smuggling in my Colemans English mustard!

I can't remember exactly, but I think that there was a pretty good choice of mustards and sauces... wouldn't worry about smuggling the Colemans...

If you want a REALLY good steak (and don't mind paying for it), don't think that you would be disappointed with Shulas :thumbsup2

JUST make sure that you go with a BIG appetite - the steaks are HUGE (even if you didn't go for the 48ox Porterhouse) and you will be stuffed to the gills with great food. Shula's is an example of VERY good quality ingredients prepared well and cooked simply.

Have a great time :)

Boo
