Planning on nov27-dec3 2005, and I've found a few threads on The Pirate Cruise, and "neverland club"...but what else is there for kids to do that isn't at the parks?

I've read somewhere, about some cooking thing, but I cant find the thread, and do not know enough about it to search..

What else is there and where can I find more info on these things??

Thanks
Brandy

There's a really fun (and free!) campfire and sing-along at Fort Wilderness in the evenings. They also do hayrides and carriage rides.

Fort Wilderness also has a petting farm, a swamp walking trail, pony rides, and a stable where you can visit the Disney World horses. We love spending a low-key afternoon and evening at FW during our trips.

We also LOVE mini golf at Fantasia Gardens and Blizzard Beach. We have so much fun with that!

I believe the cooking program at the Grand Floridian is called Grand Adventures In Cooking, but I'm not sure. They also do a Tea Party there. Maybe try a search for Grand Floridian children's activities for more details.

We also always make an evening visit to the Boardwalk. They have strolling entertainers, carnival games, face painting, fortune tellers, great restaurants and shops. It's a really fun place!

There are great programs for kids at the GF. The Pirate Cruise is there, as well as Adventures in Cooking, the Wonderland Tea Party, and the My Disney Girl Perfectly Princess Tea Party. My DD has done both tea parties and really enjoyed them. The Wonderland Party is a kids only event with Alice and the Mad Hatter. It lasts about an hour and a half and is about $30. The Princess Tea is with an adult and is $200 for one adult and one child. Your child gets a doll, bracelet, tiara, rose, and scrapbook material. You'll be served traditional tea type food while being entertained by Rose Petal and then have some time with Aurora. The Princess Tea is still on a trial basis and is only being booked until 1/05. I haven't heard if it will be extended. If you want any more info on either one of these, let me know.

Depending on DD's age and interests:

Grand Adventures in Cooking at the GF is wonderful. They make a treat to share with parents and GF visitors. Each child also gets a cloth apron they decorated and their chef's hat (This year's had mickey ears). My DD loved it.

They also have the pirate cruise and the 2 tea parties.

My DD loved riding in the water mice with her dad and they went parasailing from the CR marina.

Some of the resorts have arts and crafts activities at certain days/times. The WL is a lot of fun to look from Hidden Mickeys.

The AKL has a story teller at night (we heard some of this while waiting for dinner at Boma's).

Water parks, mini-golf, the boat rides (Port Orleans to DD or the WL/FW/MK) are a lot of fun for some kids.

Renting a Surry bike (boardwalk, port orleans, and WL for sure) can be fun and a workout for mom and dad.

The pony ride has age/weight restrictions (DD was too tall and heavy for the pony but not old enough for the horse).

Time at any pool is fun. So is resting in a hammock on the poly beach.

Many resorts have hair wrap kiosks. We stayed at POR this year and DD5 wanted to get one, but didn't have the time.

over the years and trips my DD has done the Grand Adventures In Cooking,The alice tea party,The Disney Girl Tea Party,The Pirate Cruise,The Neverland Club andThe Dolphin Club. She is a shy girl (the youngest of three) she has always had a wonderful time at all of these events. The photos of her over the years are priceless!.I must say after sending her off to these adventures and not really seeing what they do made our disney girl tea so special because i could finally go with her,it was such an exciting day for us i am so glad she is old enough to remember that one!!!
