I want to suprise the wife and take her to WDW for 4 days in early may, (just the two of us) as you can see in my signature we have been to a few resorts,I wanted to go somewhere different, but all that was available with the AP rate was the OKW. I really don't know much about it, so any advise or pictures would be great.:)

We are going for the first time March 29 to April 2...it was the only thing open with the 40% off postcard. I am super excited, it looks beautiful and quiet.

We enjoyed staying at OKW. We were in a one bedroom with a pull out sofa. Very nice and clean.

The tub was wonderful after a long day at the park. It's big enough for two adults... (don't ask me how I know that :))

OKW is our home resort and we love it. You should request an area you would like to stay. If you are interested in the feature pool, make sure you request that area. We like to be down turtle pond, close to a quite pool, and either a nice walk to the front, or we just hop on a bus and it will take us to the front. The bus route is Peninsular, South Point, Turtle Pond, Millers Road and then HH. There is a boat that leaves from the marina that will take you to DTD.

OKW is a great resort. Yes, they do have a boat to DTD from there. OKW is very large and spread out so depending on where you are staying, you may have a bit of a walk to catch the boats.

There are several bus stops within OKW so it's easy to get to the parks. I think the best thing about OKW is the large balconies that will easily seat 4 that have a great feeling of privacy about them because of the mature landscaping. When you are at OKW, you feel like you have left the hustle bustle behind.

HI! we were there over Easter last year and we were in a two bedroom off of turtlepond Rd very short walking distance to the quite pool & snack shop and not very hard to get to the main pool! You could walk it was probably like a 10min walk or you could hop on a bus to the main building any bus that goes thru the resort always stops at the main building before existing so it was very easy and fast to do this! But if thats the only pool you are going to goto then you would be better off requesting a section close to the Main House! You will love it there! The boat to DTD is awesome at Night! It also stops at SSR so if you ever want or feel the need you can take a boat to go check out the grounds over at SSR! When we were there at the main pool they had dancing and bingo and all kinds of activities!

Loved OKW! Rooms are much larger than regular DVC rooms. Very laid back atmoshere. The boat ride to DTD will be so nice for the 2 of you. or my 40th b-day, My DH and I went to WDW and stayed at POR for 3 nights WITHOUT the kids. Enjoy!!!

Where abouts is the boat dock in conjunction with the food court? I looked at the map to request a room, but it doesn't show the boat dock to DTD.

The boat dock is to the south of Olivia's and the Hospitality House, or to the west of the main pool.

The boat dock is at the Hospitality House(where you check in). There is no food court..Olivia's and a take out food area is right next to the boat dock.

OKW has the largest (by far) rooms of any DVC resort on property.
We loved the themeing, the layout, the ability to park nearly outside your door (if you have a car), the Disney transportation, the peace and quiet, the resort overall.
If you have a studio you will have 2 queen beds and a kitchenette with an undercounter refrigerator, a microwave, a toaster, a wet sink and plastic dishes etc., a full bathroom plus a good size baolcony.
If you have a 1 bedroom you will have a full and fully equiped kitchen, a king size bed in the bedroom, a washer and dryer, a full balcony, and a Living/Dining room.
Everything about OKW is quality and we totally enjoyed ourselves here.
Have a Greaqt Trip
