I hear no on October. no on december...... about November? is there a good time to go for a week? my package has not been all paid for yet so i can still change dates! Please can you help me out on days that are great for nothing going on and for hours parks are open ?? thank so much :)

If you avoid Thanksgiving and Veterans Day, November is an excellent time to go. I actually prefer the first week of December, though, because all the decorations are up and both the Christmas parade and fireworks are going. It doesn't get busy until the 12th or 13th usually.

We usually go after Veteran's Day but before Thanksgiving. We have found that the crowds are manageable and you have the added bonus of enjoying all of the Christmas happenings.

I've found its great as long as you arent going near holidays.

Thank you so much!! I called and made the reservations for the 12th thru the 19th!!! thanks i can not wait!

So are the decorations up? and do any of you know what times the park will be open? ( 12th of November thru the 19th)
weather? Is it warmer then in December? is this when the rainy season begins?
thanks again :)

I'm considering going in November also...instead of October. I'll keep you posted on when we decide to go...I'd kind of like to see Christmas decor too! We've done WDW in October....

We are going somewhere in the dates of Nov 8-26, still deciding exactly which dates. From info I have gathered it looks like the "official" holiday season will kick off the 21st. However, decorations will be gradually begin going up from the first of the month. Not positive about opening but the hours in off season last Sept. were open at 10:00 with closing at 8:00 during the week and longer hours on weekends.

When you say the "official holiday season will kick off, what does this mean? I would like to just be able to move around the park with all the crowds. I would also love to see the castle all light up in the snow look! will I miss that if I go the 12thru the 19th? I am so excited to go I can harldy see straight!! :cheer2:

Official holiday season means that is when they will start the holiday entertainment including parades, fireworks, shows, castle lighting, IASW lighting, nightly tree lighting, etc. I doubt this will be happening when you are there. You may see the tree go up during the time you are there, as well as other decorations, but the actual entertainment will not be in full swing until the official kickoff day, which DLR hasn't officially announced yet. Some people are guessing the 21st, but we won't know for sure until DLR posts the info (probably sometime in late September)

But there is parades and such while we are there right? The parades must be holiday themed but there are still parades going on all the time right? and the castle is not lit up before then:( man i wanted to see that. But the crowds will I am sure double when this all happens.

Parades - here's the warning . . . last year they actually had no parade at DL Mon-Thurs prior to the beginning of the holiday entertainment. Here's the ent. calendar from Nov. 07.

They did do some early testing on the castle lighting last year but I believe it was because it was the first year they had it. The full castle lighting effect in three acts didn't take place until Thanksgiving week, I believe. I have no idea if they will do it the same way this year.

Crowds: I don't believe the crowds will double between the week you are going and the following weeks in November. The only real days that need to be avoided in Nov are Thanksgiving week (Wed-Sun) and Veteran's Day weekend. If you are truly interested in seeing all the Christmas entertainment, I would push your trip later into November or early December.

we thought of that, but the first week in november is the cast parties and the candelight procession. not a good time for me to go. we did state we wanted to go from December 9th thru the 16th but I was told the park would be a mad house by then :(
