i have been to disney in july, the week after the fourth and really didn't think it was bad. i have since learned. then i went in may. loved the weather, the low crowds. just everything. i went the first week in june this past summer and said never again. too hot. too crowded. but i promised my DS that i would take him back for spring break. ours starts march 13th.
i would like to know what kind of crowds to expect. and what the weather will be like. i live in florida so my idea of cold is like 50 degrees. would prefer warmer weather but mother nature just wont listen to me. :sunny:
so can you give me any advice??? thanks!

March is a very very particular month in terms of weather and crowds.

Early in March it is pretty slow. Late March is hectic! Some (for some reason claim late march is slow but I have no idea why). I have annual passes and go for 1 -2 weeks every March during the last week or two (anniversary). It is PACKED! at least in the last 5 years.

2 years ago in late march they closed MK due to capacity on two seperate days.

The waits are well over 1 hour for many headliners but that's not the hardest part..............that is just getting around. It's heavy crowded.

We dont mind it however because parks are open late. If you wait until after the fireworks, you can then do many headliners with very little wait.

Weather is VERY unpredictable. It all depends on fronts. Typically you'll have days in the 80's and nights in the low 60's, but as has happened a couple of times this time of year when we were there, a cold front comes through and it's VERY cold (for us Floridians, I also consider 50 cold). It got down into the 40's at night a few times. It typically is nice, though not as dry as the winter.

Having been in March the last three years we agree with civileng68 on all counts!

We LOVE early March in Orlando!

I went in early March this year and loved it. It was not bad at all. We also are going March 12-17 in 2006 and I do not think it will be too bad. Most schools are having spring break in April this year.

Easter is in mid-April next year. The 2 weeks surrounding Easter are one of the busiest times of the year. But Easter is in mid-April this year. So March may still be crowded because of some spring breaks, but it shouldn't be as bad as this past year was with ALL the spring breaks and Easter in March.

Just a quick note about spring breaks! My kids are out of school the week of March 26 and return April 3. They only get a four day weekend in April for Easter. They have no school the Friday before and the Monday after. Just a heads up!

I would love to travel in early March. Are the crowds as low as the week after Thanksgiving?

thanks for the advice! i just really don't want it to be like it was the first week of june this year. it was sooo crowded. i said never again in june. so it was either march for spring break or the end of may, which i know will be busy.
