Hi. Please tell me if you tried "Fantasmic" without the dinner package. Specifically, was it difficult to get in? How long did you stand in line and was anyone turned away? I booked the dinner package because the Disney Reservations Agent explained that the dinner package is best because you get a ticket to get in a separate line for Fantasmic. Soooo, we'll only have to get in line about 30 minutes early. The agent said other folks line up about 2 hours early for Fantasmic. Well I don't want to stand in line that long BUT I also don't want to eat dinner at 5:20 pm. We will have had a character breakfast and won't be hungry then (nor do we want to lose the park time). The rep. said the latest dinner reservation (at any of the 3 choices for Fantasmic) is 5:20. Ideally, we would like a counter service at about 6:45 before the show. If Fantasmic, without the dinner package, is a logistical hassle, we'll just keep the dinner package and roll with it! Thanks...

It depends on when you are going...what month? We have been there the last three Septembers. We have done the Fantasmic package twice and once did Fantasmic without. With the package, we ate between 5:00 and 5:30 (sorry...we just CAN'T EAT at any of the counter service establishments at HS...awful food) and then went in the side entrance about 30 minutes before the show. The time we did without the package, we went to the late show...the one at 10:00 and waited in line about 45 minutes and the place was packed. I prefer using the package.

Thanks for the response - we are going in September. We're booked at Mama Melrose and I haven't heard about CS being bad. I'll definitely consider that!

Pizza Planet is really good, we plan on eating at Boma on our October night. There are two Fantasmic, I am sure we will be able to get into one of them without the package.

When we went last September we did the Fantasmic with out the dinner. We got there probably about 40 minutes before hand. Was not too bad.

This last time we did the Fantasmic diner package with mama melrose. This was the Monday after Easter so the parks were very crowded. Fantasmic was packed. I don't think we would have gotten in without the dinner package at the time we showed up.

We have done it with the package two times and one time it wouldn't have been an issue to get in with the regular line, the other it would have. We are going next week and I am doing the package with Mama Melrose to hedge our bet.

One tip we discovered last time. The package preferred seating area is off to the side. The way the show is designed, it is not bad, but I think the best spot is in the middle. We found the last time that we were allowed to move over to the middle and because we got in so easily, most seats were still available.

I was just going to ask about the seating. Thanks for the heads up!:flower3:
