PLEASE talk me out of it!!!

Just priced up 4 nights/5 days in Feb half term. Staying at Seqouia Lodge came out at £500!

I am SO tempted to book! Flights would only be about £200 if I booked them on release day!

But that £700 should be going in the California 2014 pot! But Rosebug would love to go back for her birthday again!

Talk me out of it!

This is what is stopping me. But then I'm thinking it can't POSSIBLY be that cold again, and it is a week later than we went last time, which would OBVIOUSLY make all the difference weather wise!

£700 is a lot of money, it's a flight to Chicago! But then we could book, 10% deposit would be £50 and if we can't afford it closer to the time, so be it!

Can't talk you out of it as we just brought annual passes for our trip next month, waiting on hubby checking he can have 2 days at christmas and going to book then and for our usual week in February. This year was coldest we have ever had in February it WAS a one off! The prices are sooooo cheap room only on Expedia, be rude not too!

You came to the worst possible place to be dissuaded from a DLP holiday!!

But realistically stop a minute and have a think...
Does it put you under strain?
Does anything at home need replacing / doing up?
Would you rather have extra spends in WDW?

I want to go again too in October but we need a new fridge worse (I did grumble that I am the only one uses it so I think I'd rather spend the money on DLP because at least I'd get some enjoyment outta that!). But if none of these would be an issue then I would go for it! Have you considered APs? It would be a great excuse to go more often and at a cheaper cost. We got good rates for AP rooms which beat expedia's prices for January. Just have to order the AP and then we can book

Lots needs doing to the house... so I have to be realistic! the day before I break up for Easter is coming out at a similar price, so that may be a better idea, and do a flight after school again! Longer to save and warmer weather! Just won't be for Bug's birthday!

With me losing a bit of the addiction to DLP after the last trip I found I stopped and realised how much we could have bought with the money spent on trips but those memories are priceless. Saying that you could use it as Rosebug's pressie and then she can help with the planning!

If your American trip is going to be a once in a lifetime kinda thing though I wouldn't put it in any jeopardy because you will kick yourself for not making the most of it. We went to Naples on our honeymoon (it was the cheapest Italian option and our "sun" part of a mini tour around Europe - wish we had just went to Spain) and if someone told me I had to go back I think I would do a runner. It gets to me that for an extra €500 we could have stayed in a city that wasn't rough and scary and that was romantic and what we were looking forward to and expecting. We've decided our 5th anniversary will be the one to make up for Naples.

Oh gosh I have an awful feeling this will be my mantra when our APs arrive!! Hubbie shall not be impressed ha!

America won't be a once in a lifetime thing, we are very lucky that my Uncle lives in Mn, will be picking us up in Chicago and taking us to California, and treating us alot along the way too. Once Rosebug is older, we will be spending alot of summers out there, and planning Florida when she is about 7 or 8 too.

But we really want to do it in 2014, as we really want to visit our family! So would rather do that than another DLP trip I think!

I can get three nights at the Cheyenne for £190 plus the cost of two APs and then we'd HAVE to go back next year to make use of the APs! I just need to break it to my DH who said he didn't want to go back for two years!

FWIW, I think the biggest thing that would put me off is the possibility of it being as cold as your last trip Rosebug. If your DD is as uncomfortable and upset again how would you feel? No-one can predict the weather but clearly there is a risk (I've had my heating on at home the last few days on and off - in July!!).

I'm not looking forward to it being cold in November/December but then my children are a bit older than yours and we are going for the Christmas season so there is no escaping the time of year/weather. Hopefully it won't be as bad as Jan/Feb...?

As you've managed to find a price around the same for Easter, I'd look at that. Much better weather - although it will be busier in the parks due to French and other school holidays, but the weather will be better than Feb and I don't know, but the park hours might be slightly longer then too!

I think I would have looked at Easter if we weren't going to Sharm in Egypt instead! Having said that, I think after our upcoming November trip, I'm not sure we'll be going back again very soon - if it's as good as our previous trips, perhaps, but if it's on a par with our recent trip, then probably not for a while!

I think if it were me I'd be keeping the money for your US trip. DLP isn't going anywhere and who knows, you may find some extra money to be able to sneak a trip in next year without having to raid your US holiday fund.

Thanks everyone, I've talked myself out of it anyway, but decided if a flash sale pops up for her birthday and the weather isn't too bad we will book again, if we have the money.

I'm surprised you thought Rome was romantic. I thought it was dirty and didn't like it as a city at all. I was in awe of the amazing art/architecture and historical sites etc. but didn't like the rest of it! But, we're all different and places I love you would probably hate!

I am too, I tend to look for the good in everything, and like I said the historical and religious side of it is just amazing. Didn't help that whilst in the queue for the Sistene Chapel, a beggar woman removed her headscarf to show that she had been scalped! Found out talking to the guard that many of them do it deliberately to get more money! Desperate!
