PLEASE,,,,,Stop calling Beach Club & Boardwalk EPCOT resorts.

Pffttt seriously, VGC is terrible. Imagine being deafened by fireworks nightly. Idk how anybody can sleep there. Everyone should just sell their VGC points now before it's too late.
I know this is a completely tongue-in-cheek comment, but I will be super curious to see how everyone reacts to the fireworks in the new VDH tower. Anyone who has been in the interior "courtyard" space between the towers of the DLH during fireworks knows the echo and reverb absolutely can be deafening. I mean is is physically uncomfortable for many people to be in there. The gap between the Fantasy and Adventure towers funnels the sound in and it bounces off the interior faces of the towers. Before, it had space to escape, now the fourth "wall" of the echo chamber is now complete with the erection of the new tower. A few years back, the rooms in the three original towers were remodeled, and the interior space of the rooms was expanded out, eliminating the little Juliette balconies each room had. I'm not sure too many people complained about that, and I'm curious if that was one reason they limited the interior-facing balconies on the DVC tower.

ETA: also, why does this matter so much? Use your point at the resort you like for whatever reasons you like, regardless of how Disney groups them. :)
What?! It totally matters...how are we supposed to sleep at night at (whatever resort we're at), knowing there's people out there calling the resort we're at, a TP resort that it really IS NOT; or even worse, not calling it a TP resort that in reality IT ACTUALLY is.

I've never experienced this at Disneyland Hotel but I have seen your reports on this in other threads and I'm interested to see how this is when we stay there in a few weeks. We have the 3BR booked for our son's b-day in January and we may have to bring a bag of those foam earplugs for guests who want to go out side on the balcony. I did experience a somewhat similar event at Riviera when they were testing the new firework program at EPCOT during our last visit. I would not call it deafening, but it was loud in the evenings when we were at the pools.

:worship: Thank you for this thread. The audacity of someone to tell other people what they can call a selling-feature of a resort is mind boggling.

You can’t take the Monorail to get there. It's not a true EPCOT resort unless you can take the monorail to get there. So that leaves out Riviera, CBR, AA, Pop as well. But BC & Boardwalk are the absolute worst. They have no good transportation to get there, it's like...you have to walk or something, and then you have to sneak in the back door at World Showcase. BLT/POLY/VGF are the only TRUE EPCOT resorts.
Call it what you will, that won’t stop me from laughing at all the people waiting in long lines for Disney transportation after the fireworks end as I walk back to my “ Not Epcot Resort.”:rotfl2:

I'm at Riviera and I can see EPCOT from my balcony. But I can't see Beach Club and Boardwalk. Therefore, logic implies that BC and BW must must not be very near EPCOT. So they are definitely not EPCOT resorts.

Look past your parking lot view to the left of the Eiffel Tower. :-)

If you don't think beach club and boardwalk are epcot resorts I challenge anybody to try to get a room there last minute during food and wine. not happening...

Im cool with considering Riviera an Epcot resort if Caribbean beach is. No difference in location or logistics after all

The only true EPCOT resorts is Walt Disney World Dolphin and Swan!!

:D

Ps. With my Marriott hotel points they have been my to go to resorts for the last 15 years. Now that I have DVC at VDH guides a limit for me to rotate with Boardwalk and Yacht and beach club.

I maintain that absolutely the only park-linked resort is Animal Kingdom Lodge.

Is there a Magic Kingdom Lodge? No. Is there an Epcot Lodge? No. Is there a Disney Hollywood Studios Lodge? Ditto.

I rest my case. 😏
You can’t get to animal kingdom park from Jambo or Kidani without taking a bus. Therefore, obviously, Animal Kingdom Lodge is not an Animal Kingdom resort.

True story but completely unrelated. We were waiting for the animal kingdom park bus at Kidani and a family turned to us and asked which bus goes to Universal Studios. Lol. So apparently there are people who think Kidani is a Universal resort. Just stop!!

I’ve read more than one report of WDW CMs being asked where Harry Potter is at MK.
