My friend told me that I have to eat it but I have no idea of what it is and where to find it. Sorry if I'm posting it in the wrong thread. Tks

Clearly that is not a funnel cake, but a corn dog.

I have never had one @ Disney, but other places - assume Disney's looks about the same.

Basically fried dough with powdered sugar on it.

I'm sure I will love it...specially if they could add strawberries on top..

Pretty sure they do - I vaguely remember watching a parade while having one with powdered sugar and strawberries...sooooo yum!!!! :worship:

YUM! In Epcot last month, DH & I had a pumpkin funnel cake in the U.S...OMG, deliscious!!! popcorn::

Yup, that first picture is of a corn dog or a pogo if you're Canadian!

I had a funnel cake at EPOC from the American pavilion back in 07. I had it topped with vanilla ice cream and strawberries. I still think once in a while that I also should have gotten it topped with chocolate sauce! It was sooooo good and I ate the whole thing by myself.

I think you can also get them at MK somewhere but they don't have the toppings that EPCOT does.

You forgot to add that funnel cakes are 'beaver tails' or 'elephant ears' in Canada. I didn't know they were called funnel cakes for a very long time and many of my American friends were hesistant to try beaver tails. :rotfl:

I never tried the Beaver Tails. Actually, I never even took the time to check them out. If they're basically the same thing as a funnel cake, why did people get so upset when they were removed from the menu? What am I missing? :confused3

I've been there in April, August and September and they've had them every time. :thumbsup2

The pumpkin funnel cakes? I'm just clarifying, because I've never seen them there. I've only seen the regular ones. If they always have pumpkin, I'll definitely be making a stop there on my next visit.

:blush: Sorry, missed the part about pumpkin funnel cake. Thought it was just regular funnel cake they were questioning. :flower3:

Elephant ears are something different in the US. They're still a fried dough thing, but they are not the same as a funnel cake.

Beaver tails are not the same thing as funnel cakes...

beaver tails are one piece of dough in a long beaver tail shape, typically with cinnamon and sugar on it.

funnel cakes, like the one posted, typically come with icing sugar, vanilla ice cream, and strawberries.

If you have never had a funnel cake, go crazy! they are GREAT!!!

funnel cakes are a PA dutch treat. They actually use a funnel to make them. My grandmother had one with a handle on it, and she would hold the funnel over the hot grease or oil and pour the batter in the funnel. while the batter was draining out the funnel into the oil, she would move the funnel around to make it like you see in the picture posted before. i have one of her old hand written cook books from about 50 or 60 years ago with her recipie in it for her version of the batter. thinking back about 45 or 50 years it didn't seam at the time to get much better than that!!!
