I have been designated the official planner for my family's upcoming DCL Cruise. We are strongly leaning towards a sailing on the Magic. I have been looking online at deck plans and stateroom reviews for hours and I am exhausted! I know that we have our favorite room on the Dream, but since this will be our first sailing on the Magic, I am back at square one. I am hoping that some of the DIS-ers who have sailed the Magic can help me out so that I can go to bed! ;) Here is a little info about us to help...

*My own family would like to book a verandah room. It is myself, my husband, and our two kids (10 and 13). From looking at plans, I think Deck 7 would be my ideal, since it is sandwiched between two decks with rooms on them, so I am thinking it would be quieter? We actually like to be away from high traffic areas and not overly close to the elevator. We prefer aft (not too far aft) or midship over forward. We loved our larger Deluxe Family Verandah room on the Dream, but it looks like those are only on Deck 8 on the Magic? I don't like the idea of being below all the common areas on Deck 9 for noise reasons....

* We will be traveling with my parents (in their 60's but very active and love to walk) and my brother who is in his 30's and single. They would like an inside stateroom, but as large of one as possible. (My brother is 6 foot 4 and wouldn't fit so well in a bunk bed! :) My mom and brother like to sleep in, so a quiet area is important to them as well. They would also consider an Oceanview if the price is not too much more and you feel that would be superior for three adults. My brother would actually prefer his own room, as he sleeps terribly in a room with anyone else, but I don't think that is in the budget! ;)

I am so frustrated with this room hunt that I'm about to tell everyone we are just going on the Dream again to spare myself! If anyone has favorite verandah and inside room numbers that they would be willing to throw my way, I would be greatly appreciative! Thank you!!

We were a family of (2 adults and a 17 and 5 year old at the time) and we loved our verandah room on deck both times we sailed the Magic. We had 6578 and 6054 each time. We had no trouble with noise at all as they are mid ship (sort of) and not above any noisy places. It was also convenient to the kids club. my 17 year old is 6'2 and slept on the couch bed as you are correct, he would not fit on the bunk easily (plus my daughter wanted it).Dont over think it but you have the right idea to make sure you arent above the theater or below pool/cabanas. We like mid ship but on our next cruise we are choosing aft as we finally got the cabin with the extended verandah directly in the back of the ship
