We are dining there next week and I haven't found any info on this board about it, so I figured I would ask :)

A bunch of us ate there in December - I really wanted to try this place. We were seated on the porch - so I can't give you any information what the inside of the restaurant was like.

The fish & chips was the best entree at our table! Our steaks were tasty, but a little tough. The bangers and mash were good - I think my DH just wanted more of it. I tasted the whiskey cake and the stickey toffee pudding. The whiskey cake was delicious chocolate cake, but I did not taste any whiskey in it. I liked the stickey toffee pudding better - it was delicious and unlike anything I could get anywhere else.

We love the Rose and Crown. My husband is from London and loves the pints as well as the food, so do my kids. They were the friendliest staff last time we were there, great view for illuminations, they gave the kids certificates saying they lit the fireworks at disney.

We have eaten there three times. Last time DH tried the lamb. He LOVED it. I think it was his favorite meal on our 10 day vacation. I do not recommend the apple crumble - too ordinary. We will likely go back next time. We have eaten on the front deck, the back deck (overlooking the water) and indoors. I prefer either outside location.

:cheer2: :cheer2: :cheer2:

We ate there a few years ago for the first time. It was our favorite meal of the trip. We have gone every year since that trip. We always get the cheese plate as an appetizer. It comes with excellant grapes. We quickly devour it. I like the chicken pastry, my daughter claims they have the best mac n cheese in Disney. My husband and son have gotten a variety of menu items and have always like their meals.

My son and I ate here in December, we both agreed that everything was delicious! The only thing I didn't care for was being seated outside where it was fairly chilly. They had heaters that they turned on, but guests that were seated directly under them asked for them to be turned off so we froze. :confused3 I actually used my napkin to cover my arms. :rotfl:

I was feeling adventurous and tried the tamarind thing... BAD decision!!! I think it was the worst tasting thing I've ever had in my mouth! Yes, I realize everybody's taste is different, but I really hated it.

That said, the rest of my family loved their meals - fish and chips, shepherd pie and bangers and mash. Appetizers were great, too.

We'd eat there again, but I would never order that one dish again, ever.

We go to R&C every trip. Cheese plate appetizer, fish & chips are my usual
choices. Other family memebers have tried different menu items & have always been happy with their choices. Can't wait to go back!

We ate there for the first time last year. The food was good. I had the Pea Soup and Fish & Chips.

The first dessert is the sticky toffee pudding and it was yummy! My son order the apple crisp type dessert and was not impressed at all. It was small and only average. He had fish & chips and I had the steak & fish.

Is the Rose and Crown and easy place to walk up on??,we have already other ADR but this would be great for a walk up lunch or a Dinner If we change our mind on another place.

Thanks for the information! We dined there on my birthday and were seated right on the patio to view Illuminations. I had the lamb two ways and am in LOVE with the Shepherd's pie, it was divine! My partner had bangers and mash, she liked it. Dessert sucked, seriously it was disgusting chocolate cake and I was very disappointed in it. our server wasn't great either, I wasn't looking for any bells and whistels for it being my birthday but it would have been nice to be acknowleged I guess. Especially since we gave him a near 30% tip for staying at the table until and through Illuminations. Oh well.

But one highlight was when we were leaving who do we see sitting two tables away from us but John Stamos! He told me happy birthday and took a picture :)
