Does anyone have a photo they can share of what the standard view looks like? I've seen photos of the savanna view, but not of the standard view so I can't compare them. Trying to decide if the additional money for the savanna view is truly worth it. Thanks!

I don't have a picture, but I stayed in a standard room last September. It was facing the bus station pickup area, but had trees in front of it. There was not really any view... but it was private and not as loud as I expected for being right by the buses. I thought I would regret not having a savannah view, but there are plenty of locations all over the resort to see the animals and we were not really in the room that much anyway.

Thanks for your input. Your post was encouraging. I'm hoping no view is a bad view (maybe just not the best). :)

Sorry, no Standard View room photos here, but I did want to at least mention to you that the Pool View rooms are only about 10-15 dollars more per night and the views are beautiful. If you stay on Zebra Trail, you have a Savannah View out the windows as you walk down the hallway to your room. :wizard:

scroll down a bit to see "standard views" on the allearnet site

If you're going to be spending a good bit of time in the room, the savanna view might be worth it to you - but the rack rate prices have gotten mighty $$$$

Last October at Kidani in a 5th floor, standard view with a view of the pool and a bit of the savanna.

We originally had a Savannah view, but the number in our party changed, so we had to change rooms, and thus ended up with a standard view. I was pretty bummed at first, but I think that it turned out alright. We were in Kidani village on the 5th floor. Opposite side from the buses. There was lots of trees and greenery to look at and it was actually really quiet. We spent a few nights sitting by the fire out at the Savannah and watched the animals from there - it was awesome, and not far from the room. So it really depends what your priorities are, but I didn't miss the view as much as I thought I would.

Here is our view (a couple are rainy day pictures)

THIS! :thumbsup2 We stayed at AKL last year and I didn't want a savannah view, but I love water views. I could not believe the pool view was only $10 more per night than the standard. So we booked pool view and our room was wonderful - obviously close to the pool (which was convenient) with a really nice view of the pool. I'd actually choose the pool view over savannah even if the pool view cost more. Loved it!

The smoking area was right below our room so that was unpleasant but we never complained. The nice thing was it was close to the elevators and not a far walk at the end of the day when our feet hurt. The resort is huge!
