We're going again next year and it looked really cool as well as an excellent spot for viewing the fireworks.

Is the food good?

Is it expensive?

:3dglasses What is the name of the place :confused3

It'a called Teppanyaki, you can't see the fireworkds from there, in fact there are no windows in the restaurant. It's the same thing as Benihana, or I see you are in NJ, so Shugun, no better no worse. PRices are about par with the chain hibachi places, $16-30 entrees.

It's called Teppanyaki. We love it. You can't see the fireworks from inside. It's reasonable for this style of resturant. The food is great and the chef is great. For the menu try AllEars.

Teppanyaki. The food is no more expensive than the other sit-down places (just depends on your idea of expensive!). DD16 and I love this place. Does take about 1.5 hours for your meal, from beginning to end, so don't be in a hurry.

We always eat there, food is good quality, good service, and the floorshow (the chef cooking) can be quite fun..

It's never taken us more than an hour to get in and out of there.

We almost always eat there on our WDW trips. We love it!!

Tip....go for lunch, not dinner. Still PLENTY of food and much cheaper!

Another tip...."Be VELY VELY careful....the glill 500 degree hot!!" (that's what the sweet Japanese lady always tells us as we enter the restaurant)---Then we sit down and can't understand why they set their plastic trays, plastic sauce cups and cups of crayons right on this supposedly VERY hot grill!!! :rotfl2: :confused3

Click on the link below in my signature and scroll down to the "Restaurants 2005" link. On that page I have a ton of pictures that I took while the chef was cooking our meal at Teppanyaki. We enjoyed it :sunny:

DH's shrimp was good, DS17's steak was good, but DS14 and I had the chicken and it was a bit on the dry side but all in all still a good meal and we would return there.

We love Teppanyaki and it is a must on each of our trips. My son chose it for his birthday dinner this year. As others have said it is in the "Benihana style". You sit at tables for 8, so if your party is less than 8 people there will be others seated with you. You sit around the grill, which is in the center of the table. The chef is the entertainment, and most are very entertaining.
The food is "stir fried" and great. We always get a combo meal (Scallops and Steak for example) and it comes with white rice. Appetizers and dessert are available (and included in the Dining Plan), as are drinks. The Lobster is now considered an add on, not a combo meal, so it is not included in MYW Dining package. The Sushi is no longer allowed as an appetizer on the plan.
The staff and servers are warm and friendly, the chefs are, for the most part, very entertaining.
We love this place, I hope you will too.
