Please say a prayer for my family-new message post 20

At about noon today, I found out that my grandpa on my mother's side has passed away.

My mom called his apartment this morning and when he didn't answer called and asked the manager (he lived in a senior home) to go check on him and this is how they found out. The coroner has dated his death at 6:30 PM last night.

He has been kind of sick, but hanging tough for quite a while now, and we think that he had a heart attack but died peacefully. I never expected it to happen like this.

He's been a really influential man in my life, and was very close to my mom and our family. He had two other daughters and a step son that he has left behind, along with several other grandkids.

Please keep my family in your thoughts. This is a really hard process to go through.

Thank you so much everyone for your kind thoughts, prayers, and pixie dust.

I never knew just how hard planning a memorial service is, but is has really been a whirlwind, and in the midst of it, it is really hard to just stop and say thank you to those who are supportive.

So I wanted to take a moment at the beginning of a day that I know is going to undoubtedly be unbelievably busy, and tell you all how much I appreciate you.

It's so comforting to know that no matter what, I have a group of friends I can go to that will always be supportive and comforting, no matter what. I've always participated in the belief that this board was more than just a message board, but a community, and this just makes me realize just how much I belive that and just how dear this belief is to me.

Thank you so much everyone; I won't be around for a few days, I have the memorial service tomorrow, and coincidentally, a wedding to participate in on Saturday for my best friend (I am the musician so it is difficult to not participate) but I will be back next week to spend some time with my friends here.
