I'm leaving for my BIRTHDAY trip tomorrow night
! Well, technically we won't be leaving until 2pm on Thursday, but we are driving over to the airport hotel tomorrow so that counts
.
This trip will be just me and my BFF. We are both "30-somethings" that feel like teenagers. We're staying at Pop Century for 5 nights. We have average appetites so we are planning on sharing an appetizer (or two), an entree and a dessert at our TS restaurants. Then, we plan on ordering kids' meals at the CS restaurants.
So, here's our plans...
Thursday: Our flight lands at 4:30pm and we have a 7:55pm reservation at Boma. We'll try to take the bus if we are checked in by 6pm. If not, we'll take a cab.
Friday: Breakfast at the food court (early!) before heading to AK for the Backstage Safari tour at 8:15am. Then, a late lunch at Sanaa (2:55pm) to celebrate my birthday. (*We are new DVC owners at AKV and this will be my first chance to see Kidani Village....my new "home"
) After lunch, we'll head back to AK for evening EMH. If we get hungry, we'll try to get a seat for something at RFC. I have 2 coupons: 1 for $10 off $25 or more, and one that is a birthday coupon good for $5 off any purchase. I'm thinking maybe a stop for some pita quesadillas and a VOLCANO!!!!
Saturday: We'll grab a quick snack from our room before heading over to Ft. Wilderness for the Segway Tour at 8:30am. It is a 2-hour tour and we have a breakfast ressie at Trails End at 11:15am. (*BTW, can anyone confirm that this will still be breakfast?) Then, after "brunch", we have a 1pm horseback ride planned. After that, it is our Magic Kingdom day. If we are still in the park at dinner time, we'll grab a counter-service meal, probably at Pecos Bill's or Cosmic Ray's. If we're not in the park, we'll be eating at the Pop Century food court.
Sunday: Breakfast at the food court. This is our DHS day. This is where I need help. I have a late lunch (2:30pm) booked at Mama Melrose's. I had thought about leaving the park and heading over to the Boardwalk since my friend has never been there. I thought we could make a meal out of drinks and appetizers at Big River Grille (which doesn't take reservations) but I made the ADR at Mama Melrose's just in case we didn't feel like leaving the park. Any thoughts?
Monday: Light breakfast at the food court before heading out to Epcot. This is our last day so we saved F&W for the end. We have a 2:??pm lunch reservation at LeCellier and a 5pm wine seminar planned. With all of the food available, I doubt we will go hungry.
Tuesday: Our DME pickup will be around 7:30am so we will have to grab a quick (and EARLY) breakfast at the food court after we check in with RAC.
So there it is...any opinions? Just a few additional items to note:
1) We are not on a dining plan
2) We do have a TiW card
3) I have an AP, but my friend only has a 4-day base ticket. Since there were only 2 days that we could even think about hopping, she decided to save the $50. That is why we are doing "one park per day".
4) I have a gift card that I have pre-loaded with my "food budget". Right now, it is at $200. I am hoping that with the 20% discount and the fact that we will be either sharing meals or ordering kids' meals, that it will be enough. (BTW, that $200 is for my half only, not ALL of our food
)

but we are doing the Sci Fi officially 15 minutes after the park closes so that will be fun!
