Hi everyone!! I am hungry (again) and just finished making out our dining plan for our next trip. We are trying some things that I havent done in years, which means the rest of my family hasnt done at all. Some restaurants are new for all of us, and some are favorites for us. Our trip begins on a Thursday and ends on a Monday. Enjoy!! Comments are appreciated and wanted!!

Thursday:
B: on the road, leaving home around 4am
L: depending on the time, will eat at Disneys Soda Fountain (new for all of us), or if to early when we are going by that area, will eat somewhere in DTD, followed by a side trip to Company D:cool1:
D: Crocs Bits N Bites or WhiteWater Snacks (both new for all of us)

Friday:
B: Carnation Cafe (a favorite of ours)
L: Wine Country Trattoria (new for all of us)
D: French Market (a favorite of ours)

Saturday:
B: more than likely will be Dennys
L: Carnation Cafe (first time for lunch)
D: Cafe Orleans (I havent been in years!! A first for my family)

Sunday:
B: undecided, possibly Dennys again
L:The Golden Horseshoe (I havent been in at least 15 years, my family has never been)
D: Plaza Inn (a family fav!)

Monday:
B:Storytellers Cafe (a first for us!)
L: on the road, if didnt eat at Disneys Soda Fountain, will on the way home!!
D: hopefully we will be home for dinner, otherwise we are going to the ever famous McDs!!

Thanks for reviewing!!

::yes:: Sounds good to me! Are there children with you?? My hubby and I enjoy a cocktail at the GC in the eve, very nice, plus they have an appetizer:goodvibes menu. The restuarent in the Disney Hotel is also wonderful, my 3 kids:dance3: ate there with us (about $7 each) and we ordered from the Adult menu:laughing: With two drinks each (kids also pay for soda etc), and the 3 kids it was about $100. :wizard: But hey its your vacation! Have a ball! If you have any other questions be sure to post!:hippie:

For me and hubby, that would be too much food by the second day. :)

What does this mean? "depending on the time, will eat at Disneys Hollywood Studios "

I would highly recommend going to WWS for a breakfast one of those days. Utterly delicious, IMO.

All those seated meals with a 2 year old? You are a braver woman than I, my friend! Sounds good. :thumbsup2

Hi Brandy,

You have selected a lot of nice places to eat, and yummy, too. But I agree with Molly that it is too much. Usually two meals a day and a snack is enough. I am a fairly big eater and could never eat three full sit down meals a day at Disney. Churros, popcorn, DoleWhips, Giant Pickles, Turkey legs, Mickey Ice Cream Bars....they all make for great snacks on days you skip a meal. Just my opinion.:)

And what is Disney Hollywood Studios?

Got to agree with a few...I think you have too many meals. We usually can only do two meals with all the snacks we enjoy.

Ditto, too much food. Maybe do an early lunch (brunch), a mid day snack and then dinner around 5:30 instead of 3 big meals. Unless you are planning on splitting at some of the places. We love WCT but we split a salad, each get an entre and split a dessert. STill too much food and we waddle out. I'm sure the other places you have planned will be similar in portion size

I love to eat at Disneyland but there's no way I can eat 3 meals a day there! The only way I could do it would be to split meals. That's what my friend and I did on our last trip. It was perfect! We were never too full and always ready for more yummy Disney food or a snack later on. It also saved on the food bill too! Most of the portions are too large for one person anyway!

Hi Brandy,

And what is Disney Hollywood Studios?

Sorry, dont know why I typed that. It was supposed to say Disneys Soda Fountain, as I edited to say now. Thanks for pointing that out.:thumbsup2

bumbershoot-I assume you were basically asking the same thing. I typed something that I have no idea why I did. Sorry. And the time thing, depends what time we pass by that area, if it is too early for lunch or not, and depending what time we ate breakfast. Oh, I didnt knwo WWS did breakfast, I will change one of our Dennys mornings to WWS. Thanks!! Do you know what time they open? Do they take PS?

For all else-the schedule above is tenative of course, I still have 4 1/2 months!! But, we do usually eat 3 fulls meals a day, even at Disneyland. And we do still do snacks too!! My boy will be 3 when we go, but he is a pretty good eater. Sitting in resturants is not usually an issue for him, unless there is an extremly long wait for food, but we have never experienced that at DL, usually pretty quick in comparison with outside the park.

I had a feeling it was the soda fountain, but decided not to confuse matters by guessing. :goodvibes

WWS is a really casual place, so no PS. It's actually next up in my trip report, so if you're reading you'll see two of the breakfasts they served (we get them without meat) once I get it posted.

We just get so hot, usually, we can't think about eating 3 meals a day. It's like the meals heat us up...so we drink a ton of water and share meals. This last trip hubby lost 3.8 pounds from all the walking, and had a full tummy the whole trip long!

:cutie: Hey Brandy! Yeah, I think "to each his own", if you eat 3 meals a day great, you eat 2-ok thats great to! I personally at times can eat 3 meals a day, I just make them light and other days I dont eat but one and others, I eat more then I should.;) You go and have a wonderful time, and like you I have been lucky enough to have 4 kids that are able to sit and behave in fine sit down restuarants:cool1: Have a great time, and if you like a Great cocktail, ask for the "Vacation"- its really good!!!:beach:

I agree, "to each his own", and some of these meals we may just have salads, so that is just light. I have been hearing some really good things about some of the salads at Wine Country Trattoria.

My kids are wild, but very good eaters. I have never met another child that eats like my 4 year old. I just cant imagine what he will eat like when he is a teenager. He is so tiny and he eats so much. And its not just that he eats alot, he eats everything, the only thing I can think of that he doesnt like is tomatoes. He even likes pickle juice!! I know, wierd kid.:lmao:

Sounds yummy! Like others, for us, maybe too much food, but you know your family!

We ate at Croc's Bit's-n-Bites. I was actually surprised that the burgers were as good as they were (not gourmet or anything, but pretty good for a quick little place!)

The only thing I will "warn" you about is they put a Thousand-Island type dressing on their burgers...BLECH! Luckily I was able to trade with my dd16 for her chicken strips, but the 2nd time we ate there (grabbed a quick lunch on our way back to our room for naps!), I asked for no dressing and there were no problems with that!

Mmmmmm pickle juice! It makes my mouth water just thinking about it!! I started drinking pickle juice when I was a kid... dill pickle juice only please:)

:lmao: What a match made in "pickle juice heaven"! My lunch will consist of a sandwich and pickle today, I am inspired!:cool1: Brandy, you will not be disappointed with your food choices! Carnation Cafe has the BEST breakfast, and its priced RIGHT!!! I am counting the days! Also, treat ourself to "The Sink", it is an ice-cream concoction that serves 6-10 people($24.00), it is served at the PPH in the PCH Grill! Ask for Alfredo, he is wonderful, and beyond helpful!::yes::

I would have to agree. For our first trip I was thinking that yeah we would have three meals a day but it was more like 2 and a snack. I didnt get to try out much food cause wasnt hungry and just too on the go with a 4 year old wanting to ride ride ride.

the minestrone soup at the Trattoria is also very good . . . . .

well if most of your brekfests is before the park opens and then you need lunch and dinner i dont see a problem with it, id excpect you to have left overs or to toss some away at lunch time or just order a small plate.

but see we eat brekfest eathier before park opens or at plaza inn
then we have a lunch around 1 and go back to the hotle
then at 6 or 7 we will do dinner. so i don't see three meals a problem. but some times no body may want a sit down lunch..I liked the golden horse shoe it wasnt really sit down. it was quick to us and I liked there food

That is exactly what we do! We eat breakfast before park opening, or if eating in the park, that is the first thing we do. Especially if park opens at say 9am, and main st. at 8am, we make PS for 8am, eat, and enjoy the park until lunch hour.
Of course it also depends on the weather. The extremly hot days we may not eat as much, but considering this is late October-early November, we will more than likely eat 3 meals, especially if we start early.

Thanks everybody!!

I have been to Carnation Cafe for breakfast before, just not for lunch. And it is excellant!! I have read that lunch is just as good!!

Maybe one of your Denny's breakfasts could be a Mimi's Cafe breakfast! I like Mimi's so much better.....

Our extended family had our best lunch at French Market... soup in a bread bowl, po' boy sandwich, fried chicken and mac n cheese for the kids. Next trip we will try Cafe Orleans.

Also... if you end up not wanting or needing a full meal, check out Royal Street Veranda.. soup and gumbos in bread bowls.

Goldenhorseshoe was not good the last time we were there (2005). We liked the pizza place in Tomorrowland much better.

Have a great trip.:cool1:
