Hello All,

It's been a crazy ride the last 3 or 4 days for many on the Disboards. Just a quick, gentle reminder that the frontline CM's had zero to do with the policy making. I think most of them work pretty hard and do want to give good guest service. At least that has been my experience in over 20 years as a DVC Member.

I know emotions have run high, but the great news is that folks whose contract was received by end of day 4/03/16 WILL be grandfathered in. Yay!!! I wish all of you that were in this limbo-land congratulations and pray you enjoy your membership as much as I have mine. Many happy, blessed years to you all! :flower3:

I agree that we should all be respectful when dealing with the CM's. They are often the point of contact for us with the Disney organization and they are the ones that need to carry our message to the folks that do make the decisions.

My favorite day at Disneyland was when I got a cast member to say with mouth covered and under her breath that she knew a rule was stupid and she'd gladly break it but she was on video and couldn't.
(I was trying to go in the side dca gate which apparently is only open to hotel guests until 11am when it opens to everyone. I'd used it many times but always after 11 so I never knew the rule and tried to talk my way in hahaha)
Made me realize just how bad their jobs can be sometimes enforcing rules that they don't necessarily agree with.

I'm not a DVC owner yet but I've been lurking for 2 years and researching. Emotions are running high, I'm not even a member yet and I'm upset, but your post 100% hit home for me...

Long story short: I am postponing my purchase again (1st time because of having a baby) because my company is restructuring and cutting benefits. In the past 6 months they have taken away vacation time, paid holidays and there have been no increases. The reason your post hit home is because I work in the HR department and employees seem to think I personally decided to do this to them. I'm not in charge and neither are CMs!

I feel bad for the CMs having to deal with the fall out.

We should all just feel lucky we still have DVC (and our jobs)!
