Please recommend your DVC guide

Our guide is out on an indefinite leave and we want to add on before this round of incentives ends. I called today and the random person that I was passed to did not really listen to me and gave me a lot of wrong information. I’d rather call someone directly than going through the switchboard again. Any recommendations? We intend to use MB and buy late enough that we can cancel if summer incentives are better. I’m looking for a guide that can a) understand this and b) figure out how to navigate the process correctly.

What impressed me about this guide was how he handled our first direct purchase last year. I called to confirm the incentives that brought VGF down to $161pp, he quickly checked that I qualified. I asked about spreading payment and he immediately offered 4 payments over 90 days. Start to finish an hour on the phone (4-5pm) and next morning points in my account*. New Years Day he called to touch base and wish us the best for 2024. Efficient yet thorough.

Eta - I remember using the points with DH the next morning. Now recall seeing that same evening too, 7/8pm. Either way super fast.

Sounds like a lot of good recommendations. I'd feel bad not putting a word in for my guide. He has done a lot for us over the two years we have been members. He has been able to work with us in some very creative ways that I'm sure were hard to get approved and he almost always comes through. He follows up and tries his best to visit us when we are in town. He can also help with VGC/VDH as he can sell in CA too. He's even helped us when we had some pain with a resale contract.... -

I know I’m piling on but I didn’t see him listed so he has to be mentioned. Tony Capetillo is awesome. We bought resale back in 2019 and did not add on until Riviera in this latest incentive cycle. He called before every trip and during to see it we needed anything and talked me through many different Direct buy in scenarios over the years. Very patient and a great guy.

He also let me split Riv up into 4 payments which was great.

I had a similar question. We were assigned someone apparently after buying resale. She’s done nothing wrong, but she’s a little pushy and I don’t get the sense she’s trying to get us the best deal and what would work best for us. Just not our vibe. But I wasn’t sure if you can request to be assigned to someone new (and also wouldn’t want her to get dinged or in trouble as a result). We don’t plan to buy direct super soon but have gone back and forth on it so having the option to switch would be great.

I'm glad you asked this - we liked our original guy, he left and the new one... I can't say anything is exactly wrong but I don't feel like he's got an interest in helping us get a deal at all. We're debating between three different things, and I wondered if there was a way to "lock in" the current incentive while being able to see the next and have learned WAY more reading these boards than by talking to the guide.
