I am looking for a nice (equivalent of an on-site Deluxe) off-site resort close to Disney Property.

Could you please recommend your favorites and tell me why you like them!

(Our party will be 4 adults - 2 rooms) Can be two rooms or a 2-bedroom condo.

thanks!

It would be cheaper for one room, but I understand your privacy. I would try the Hilton near DTD. I heard that it's very nice and clean. Hilton's are always good though. And I think that it's cheaper than all the deluxe resorts at WDW, but I'm not sure. Plus if you stay there, they have the EMH, even though it's considered "off-site."

Super cheap is not necessary. I'm more interested in NICE, CLEAN and not too far for less than about $160/night per couple. (could either be 2 rooms or a two bedroom condo).

thanks

I would try posting this on the Orlando attractions board where there are more people who have stayed off-site.

Thanks - I'll do that.

Thanks to the mods for moving my thread. I'm new to these boards and didn't realize I was in a "Disney only" forum.

Not too far - the town (disney built) is really great, the Hotel is VERY NICE - cant say enough good about it and its small five stars in my book.

Celebration is too far. We really need a DTD or other really close resort. We will be doing Food and Wine Festival and will be going back to our resort after the parks to get changed for nice dinners.

I just can't bear the thought of paying the rack rate for a mod (while holding an AP).

thanks!

Have you concidered Doubletree suites. It is smaller than a condo but it is on Disney property in the Hotel Plaza resort area. It sleeps 6. It has 2 rooms ,A bed room and a living room with a sleeper sofa. 3 TV's a small kitchen area with a fridge,a microwave and a coffee maker.

Maybe you might want to check out the Swan or Dolphin they are on site and have dicount rates for teachers and sometimes they have nice specials.
They are 4 star hotels and a lot less expensive than Disney's deluxes.

Just another option for you to think about.

We are diehard DVC-ers. One way we optimize our points is staying in our DVC resort Sun-Thurs, and offsite on Fri-Sat. Once you experience a good dose of Disney red carpet, staying offsite can be tough to stomach. But we have found that the Universal resorts are equally magical as Disney (OK, maybe not equal, but close!). We've stayed at the Royal PAcific and Hard Rock, and one of the luxuries is that your room key acts as a fast pass on all Universal rides. You can walk into either park from all three resort locations. And the food selection is awesome (Margaritaville, Hard Rock, even a Starbucks!).

Check it out...and enjoy.

Thanks for the responses.

minnie61650 - I tried Swan/Dolphin for my dates (October 14 - 17) and the teacher rate is only available on the 14th and there are NO ROOMS on the 17th due to a convention!! (I love the Swan and would certainly stay there if I can get it.)

fvb9 - We are actually doing our first DVC stay in late November (2BR VWL) with my parents and young daughter. This trip I'm trying to see if there are 2 studios available, but haven't yet heard back from any members with points to rent. (The 2 BR would be more than our budget allows)

Marthasor - Can you tell me more about Villas at Grand Cypress?

thanks!!!
