Hello :)

Looking for somewhere near the parks that is clean & cheap. We are really only there to sleep, so it doesn't need to be fancy.

I saw some cheapies on TripAdvisor, but I like to ask the DIS'ers.

Where would you reccomend? and where would you avoid?

Going President's week.

Thanks :)

What price range (per night) are you looking for? We stay offsite at local Marriott's that are about 10 minutes from the park.

How close do you want to be to WDW & what sort of budget are you working with?

You can get a 2 bedroom condo at Wyndham Bonnet Creek Timeshare Resort for around $100 a night, no additional resort or parking fees. Also has a kitchen for breakfast and snack foods.

We stayed at the Marriott Residence Inn SeaWorld for a GREAT price back in 2012 $56 a night with a huge room, kitchenette, and pool... that was during the off season though... but I like that hotel... very clean and free breakfast...

We stayed at the Hawthorne Suites on Palm Parkway Lake Buena Vista a couple years ago before cruise and loved it. Has free breakfast every morning, little kitchen area, separate bedroom, pull out sofa. Rates are around $100.00 per night

We've stayed twice in cabins at Tropical Palms Resort. VERY convenient to the parks - EPCOT took 8 minutes by car, Typhoon Lagoon was the longest at 15 minutes.

In 2012, we rented through VRBO & paid $586 for 8 nights. In 2015, I found a deal through "Tickets At Work" (it's a service your employer might have) - $393 for 8 nights.

Wanna say they're in the $70/night range without any "deals". We had a 1-bedroom cabin with sleeping loft for the kids in 2012, and a 2-bedroom cabin with bunks in the 2nd bedroom in 2015. The 1-BR had a washer/dryer, the 2-BR did not. I think they have several versions of the cabins though, so I'd ask ahead of time if that matters to you.

I've done a couple budget last minute, long week end trips. I've used Priceline for those and paid about $40 a night. We got Rosen Shingle Creek one for a universal trip that was really nice. Another time we got DTD hotel that has changed ownership since. It was safari themes and had a great water slide that my son loved.

My dad has been close to 40 times almost all on property. He and my daughter have stayed at the Wyndham right there from DTD the last two times. He said it would take a super deal to get him back on property afterwards.

we loved Windsor Hills..we booked thru Vacation Central Florida

We like windor hills too. The condos aren't fussy and I like having a full kitchen and laundry!

We will be there presidents weekend because of a gymmastics meet. I have no idea if the room will be ok (trip advisor says it will be), but I got destiny palms for $50 a night.

I'm confused - isn't Destiny Palms a hotel...not a part of Windsor Hills?

Where is the best place to book BC? The agent recommended on this board requires a min 4 night stay and I only need a 2 or 3 night stay. I already looked, and missed one, on Ebay. :(

There= Orlando/Disney. Gymnastics meets are in the Espn wide world of sports complex.
You got a great hotel rate! I'm familiar with this hotel. It's an older property but is undergoing renovations. Don't be afraid that the hallway carpets look old, the rooms are very nice. The employees, especially the manager/owner are terrific & if you have any problems, let them know & they'll do what they can to make you happy. You can also see Animal Kingdom from this hotel, it's soooo close to Disney property! The free breakfast is simple, but nice. Hope you enjoy your trip!

Woohoo thanks for the info! It was a hotwire special and it seemed almost too cheap.

Baymount Inn and Suites on Blacklick Rd is 5 minutes from the Animal Kingdom and is about $70 a night.
