We will be a group of 10 staying at PORFQ late July for 6 nights. We can make ADR's next Sunday. Kids are 10, 9, 9, 7. We are on the DDP and we plan to reserve using the 6 TS credits for dinners.

We would like go to the Hoop Dee Doo show (2)
We were also considering Mama Melrose/Fantasmic (1)

Others on our radar are: YOUR THOUGHTS.......PLEASE!!
Garden Grill
Biergarten
Akershaus
BOG (?)(have read very mixed reviews)

Also.......I understand PORFQ is close to DD so a restaurant there would be an option. Any suggestions?

Would really appreciate any advice. This is our first trip. Thanks.

The kids (especially the girls) will love Askershus for the princesses. I would consider changing Biergaten to Via Napoli for the reason of Via Napoli is the only good pizza on Disney Property. Have not been to BOG yet. For DD table service restuarant with kids, I would look at TREX, Rainforest Cafe, or Raglan Road. I like Mama Melroses and Garden Grill is good.

We have never had any trouble getting great seats at Fantasmic without dining tickets, even at Xmas and in July. You just need to show up a bit earlier. That said we love mama Melrose.
Never been to BoG for dinner, but been for lunch a number of times, no trouble getting in if show up around 11am (brunch).
Garden grill is good and fun. We didn't enjoy Biergarten that much. Hoop dee Doo was lots of fun.

Other places coral reef, rose and crown, sci fi diner, TRex, rainforest cafe

We did Hoop de Do 2 yrs ago and the Fantasmic Package with Mama Melrose - both were great. Even if y9u do get into fantasmic without the package, I just liked knowing we had seats no matter what. Didn't cost extra and eased my mind. Hoop de Do is awesome, just a fun show - my boys were 5 and 8 at the time and they had a blast. We love Garden Grill, good food and lots of character interaction. We did Biergarten on that trip as well, we liked it - cute show, different setting, I liked experiencing something out of the ordinary. I have boys so we never did Akerhaus. We stayed at POFQ on that trip as well and did take the boat to DD. We like Cap't Jacks because we are seafood people, but Rainforest and is great, We haven't done TRex yet, but hear it is fun too. Enjoy... you are def. on the right track - sounds almost identical to the trip we had 2 years ago...:)

Do you have any animal lovers in your group? if so, I recommend Coral Reef at Epcot. The food is good, and the tank is absolutely amazing! We enjoyed it and would go back. I will say our first trip was absolutely awesome, and it was very late (i think we were seated at 8:45), second visit wasn't quite as good (more of a normal dinner time). I think it's because they were ridiculously busy the second time, so maybe pick a less "peak" reservation time?

Also, my kids love rainforest cafe (the food is pretty good too!!). We are doing T rex this trip so the kids can do the build a dino! it's owned by build a bear, so if your kids like BAB, they might enjoy it:thumbsup2

Happy planning!

PS don't freak out too much about the 180 day thing. I made most of our reservations for our upcoming trip at the 90 day mark and got pretty much everything I wanted. For the few I didn't, I just kept looking at eventually got everything!!!

If you're staying at POFQ than don't overlook Boatwrights, my sister said it was the highlight of the trip (I trust her because she's a trained chef). I also love Liberty Tree Tavern at the Magic Kingdom. I didn't have to fight with the kids to eat, it was nice to have familiar comfort foods for them and it tasted amazing!
