This is an email sent to my DIL. She was worried about my son and this is his reply. I think it puts a new angle on why we are over there.

Nothing is going to happen to me, I want to be with you too, but I have to do this. Let me tell you something that happened last week and you will understand. We had to take somebody over to the Armedforces hospital I escorted the medics there. The hospital also takes care of civilians. while I was waiting in the ER a man came up to me with a little girl, she was 8 yrs old. He shook my hand and said thank you, then said something to the little girl and she reached up hugged me, kissed me on both cheeks and said thank you for protecting me. I almost cried right there. I am here to make sure everyones kids, wives, brothers have a safe world to grow up in. No one has had a chance like this since 1945. I will not back down from this task. God puts us on earth to do something, this is my little bit to help.
