We have have just created an "In memoriam" board. This will be a read only board where we will collect threads about our departed friends. If you happen to see any threads that you feel belong there please notify a moderator. Here is a link to the board and we will add it to the front page.

That is great, Alex. Very good addition for the DIS family.

A question I have is, at what point would the thread be moved off its original board and placed on the read only? Once there, obviously no more responses or added comments about the person. Again, great addition.

I think what we will probably do with "active" threads is copy them, then if people add more posts we can copy them again, I will try to start moving some threads later tonite once loads settle

I know that searching the archives really stinks! As I have said before it's a hack that we didn't write and it was neccesary to keep the boards running at the time.
If there are any threads in there that belong on this new board I do have the capability of extracting them...
So if anyone wants to take the time to look and link that would be awesome!

The only search that works in the archives is the subject line. You can also pretty easily find posts by a person by using the edit / find drop downs.

If anyone knows some searches that might get some of the old posts I can help search.

Many of the pictures may not still be there and some other things don't work in the archives.
