Please pray for the missing, they are our own

I'm kinda upset that the family found out from the news about the soldiers being found before appropriate steps were taken to inform them :guilty:

An uncle was on this morning to speak about it and it sounded like he was awoken by the news agency to get an interview, they had no clue.... :sad2:

I may be wrong, but it seemed this was the case! Truly sad!

God bless the family & friends :rose:

Wouldn't they notify the immediate family first, i.e. wife (if they had one), parents, maybe the immediate family hadn't notified the rest of the family yet. I don't know............. but I did see the same thing you saw.

My thoughts are with the families of these brave young men.

You would think so, I know somethings the news catches first! I do hope that his wife/parents did find out first, maybe it hadn't gotten to the uncle yet :guilty:

What I read was that the US spokesman in Iraq has refused to confirm or deny it. I think it must have "leaked" through improper channels and the spokesman is waiting for the family to be notified before releasing the info. That is my guess at least.

There was a time or 2 when DH was in Iraq that he was shocked I knew info so quick that was not suppose to be out. One time I found out something related to his camp before HE knew it. Then another time it took months for the press to get the story (that he had shared with me early on).

So sad though, prayers for their families.

My heart breaks for these families and as a USMC mom it hits a very strong nerve..I send prayers for their families...my family has been safe so far, my dear friend sadly lost his son so I ask you keep everyone in your prayers

Now, I'm going to sound uptight lol saying this and part of the reason I haven't posted anything this morning. It was leaked through improper channels of an Iraqi officer to the military. The army has a very strict policy of waiting 24 hours before releasing the information to the public. They also have strict policies of notification to the families i.e. will not come to your house at 2am to tell you a loved one is gone and will not come to tell you a loved one is gone until absoultely positive. They may for whatever reason still be doing test to confirm even if it's dental comparison. The army also has to let everyone know on the next of kin list so it could take a bit, this could include the wife and the parents. So I'm not going to say anything to the point of yes or no it was them until public confirmation is out. Can you tell I say this alot, lol? Thank you for continued prayers.

Tina - you are absolutely right, this hasn't been publicly confirmed yet. You aren't uptight at all.

I have just been listening to a news report on the BBC about this. It had me in tears. They played part of a message that one of the soldiers had left for his mom amd dad, it just about broke my heart! :sad2:

The poor families. :( Such a horrible thing.

This news angers me beyond belief. I wont say what I would love to do to that country.

My heartfelt sympathiesto the families.....

My heart breaks for the soldiers families. :guilty:

Tina,
My continued prayers go out, not only for you and Matt, but for all of our military men and women. :grouphug:
